Fast Lane Classic Cars

We lingered at the hotel on Tuesday morning without a lot on the agenda. We heard about a car dealership in the little town we were staying in that specialized in restoring old vehicles. They have a huge showroom and encourage people to come by and look, even if they aren't planning to buy. We thought this would be interesting for the boys...especially the muscle cars.

Camden, however, prefered the older models.

She even kicked the tires to make sure they were in good condition.

Kevin liked the older station wagon...especially since it came with a bubble camper.

He brought me by it twice and tried to tell me it was just what our family needed! HA!

Our final stop in the St. Louis-area was at the Cahokia Indian Burial Mounds. The interpretation center was closed, but we drove by some of the huge burial mounds.

We stopped at the large Woodhenge structure. It's was a "sun circle" - kinda like an ancient sundial used to make astrological observations. Pictures don't do it justice. It was pretty impressive to think of how it was used in ancient time.

Too bad civilization has to creep up next to everything! Oh well...this is the center pole they are standing next too.
We made it home in time for Kevin to take a nap before having to go to work that night. Ugh...reality is never as much fun as vacation!
