Addams Family Weekend

Tomorrow is opening night!  Camden has had dress rehearsals every night this week.  She comes home looking a little pale!

International Space Station

A few weeks ago the International Space Station flew directly overhead.  We were on our way home from a meeting, but pulled over and watched it pass.  Camden found it immediately and pointed it out to me.

Pretty cool!

The Addams Family

Camden is in the Jr. High Musical this fall.  She is a ghost in the Addams Family.  It is an ensemble part, but the director is fabulous about making EVERYONE have a standout part.  She waffles between all the time commitment being too much and loving the atmosphere and her cast mates.

The show will run three times on Friday, Nov. 1, 7pm, Saturday, Nov. 2, 7pm, and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2pm.

These are some amazingly talented kids.  It really is going to be a great show!

Mid-Week Exercise

I had to pick up an order from a store in Lafayette, so Camden and I headed up there after work on Tuesday.  We stopped by Gramma Pat's to try on a costume she is putting together for Camden's musical at school and she ended up coming with us while we did errands.

Our first stop was to let Camden have some fun at Jump It.  The place was empty so she had fun playing with the handful of kids and not having to navigate around a crowd.

We did some brief shopping and got dinner before calling it a night.  Didn't seem like we did much, but we were home only a bit before bedtime.  But it was fun!

Plan B Continued

We filled the afternoon at Beasley's and then it was time for dinner.  We hit Portillo's where I had lots of coupons for free stuff.  We all ate a big dinner for under $15.

I was still "making up for" the amusement park debacle, so we decided to head to Monster Golf in Avon.  It didn't hurt that I had 2 free rounds, so it wouldn't cost much there.  We pulled up to the front of the building and it was "closed forever."  Boy...what a strike out day!  We rolled with the punches and headed to Spirit Halloween store for some browsing...and scaring.

It was getting dark, but we thought we had time to stop at a park for a bit more fun.  They played for about 45 minutes before it was too dark to continue.

One last stop on our way home at the Lizton Dairy Barn for a small ice cream cone to close out the day.  They were all out of everything except chocolate or vanilla soft serve.  What is happening today!?!?  We actually left and made it to the Big Dipper in Crawfordsville with 5 minutes to spare before they closed.  We were sure we were going to arrive to find they closed early.  But we got our cones and headed home.

Even with all the closings, the day was fantastic!  They all were very grateful for the fun.

Oops! Plan B

A few Friday's ago Camden didn't have school for Parent Teacher Conferences.  Since we had a pass to Kentucky Kingdom and it was "bring a friend for free" in September, I decided to head down there for the Friday night Halloween activities.  It would be a long night with the three kids, but it sounded so fun.  While running around in the early afternoon picking up Braxton and Sophia, I decided to check the hours one more time on the website.  CLOSED!  The Friday night hours were only in October.  I am so glad I thought to check while we still in town and not arrive in Louisville 3 hours later to discover it!

We pulled into a parking lot and did some brainstorming on other things to do.  Camden thought of Beasley's Orchard.  It was a perfect day for this!  Off to Danville we headed.  We bought our wristbands and off we went to all the activities.

Their pumpkin patch this year is gorgeous.  The gourds are so big and beautiful.  We didn't get any because it was so early and there probably won't be this many good ones in the next bit.  But it was fun to explore the fields and find cool ones.

The kids loved the apple cannons.

The also were thrilled that I let them do the corn maze on their own.

They successfully did the challenge and then we picked some apples, shopped in the store, and finished with more fun on the jump pillow.

They raved about the day and were not even upset to miss out on Kentucky Kingdom.
