Daddy's Hat

The daily ritual when Daddy comes home from hunting...Camden runs to the door and puts on Kevin's hat.  She looks so cute.  The picture doesn't do it justice.

I'm most shocked by how green her eyes look.  My dad, Camden's Grandpa Don, had eyes that changed when he wore different colors.  Mine do too, to some extent.  Looks like baby girl also got that trait.

Uh Oh...Driving

Yes, Camden is convinced that she should drive a car.  Everytime we get ready to go anywhere, she emphatically offers to drive.  I had the Buick parked in the driveway and needed to clean it out, so I let her sit in the driver's seat to keep her occupied.  Hog Heaven!

By the way, the car was parked in the driveway so the insurance adjuster could see it.  On the way home on Sunday night from picking up Camden from Uncle Ric and Aunt Carole, a HUGE buck decided to run into my path.  I saw him quick enough to hit the brakes and swerve, but he ran into the side of the car.  No one was hurt and it's relatively minor damage for a deer hitting it, but we'll have to have some body work done to the driver's door, mirror and front fender.  Kevin says he's glad one of us got a big one this year!

Overnight with the Braund's

This past weekend I got sick with a very bad case of the stomach flu.  I was very weak and ask Aunt Carole if she could help with Camden.  So Camden stayed the night with her favs on Saturday.  It was a very active Sunday with Meeting, a birthday party (yummy cake!), riding a "tractor" and traveling all over the state to get to the various events.  Camden had a great, but exhausting time.

Quick Visit with The Braund's

We made a quick visit to Lafayette last week and spent the evening with Uncle Ric and Aunt Carole (and family).  After a yummy fajita dinner, Kevin and Ric "played" outside with hunting gear.  Camden wanted to join her daddy in the portable tree stand.

Then it was time to go inside for a snack of  Aunt Carole's peanut butter and banana "sandwiches."

Even after that yummy treat, there was still time to play with the huge selection of playdough and a quick strategy game with Ree.

The Girl Who Likes to Sing

Camden has been singing up a storm lately.  I think they've bumped up the singing at her daycare, but we also sing alot in the car and at home.  Her favorites of late have been B-I-N-G-O, Jesus Loves Me, Little Fishies (which I haven't quite learned yet), and Baa Baa Black Sheep.  She also sings along with Raffi on his CD in the car all the time.  Problem is there are about 3 songs she wants to hear - over and over and over again.  But it is adorable listening to her sing "We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo..."  I love this singing stage!

Hoops Girl

Since the annual covered bridge festival began this past weekend, garage sales are everywhere in our neck of the woods.  Camden and I hit a few on Saturday and scored a basketball hoop.  We spent the afternoon outside shooting some balls.  As you can see by the nearly naked babe, the weather has been very warm.

At one point she decided she was so good she'd try the big basket.

Actually there had been a slight detour at the slide - both she and the basketball took a turn.

Then it was time to head back to me on the front porch.  Of course, she had to carry everything (including a fresh picked "flower and a plastic pepper spotted along the way) at the same time.  That's my girl...finding the most efficient means necessary.

Field Corn

We drove by one field of the farmer that Kevin used to work for and Al was by his combine getting ready to head back home.  Camden LOVES tractors and combines, so we stopped to see if she could have a ride.  Al was very willing, but was just going to be driving down the road, so we made plans to take her another time when he would be harvesting corn.  In the meantime, Kevin grabbed her a piece of corn from the field.  Camden had a great time picking off the kernals.

She mainly used her hands, but those talented feet and toes worked too.  She's so weird sometimes!

Fuzzy Bugs

We've had lots going on the last week, but haven't had time to get a pictorial recording of it.  I'm most disappointed that we went to the Feast of the Hunter's Moon with a dead camera battery!

We are still able to spend our evenings outside.  In fact we've just had a streak of summer-like days, but when these series of pictures was taken, it was still very brisk...actually it was perfect fall weather.
A fuzzy catepiller had made it's way to our sidewalk and Camden liked watching it.  At one point she thought it needed some grass over it.

She was fascinated when the fuzzy bug decided to crawl out from under the pile.

She got brave at one point and started to touch it, but had second thoughts.
