Anheuser-Busch Factory Tour

I have loved factory tours since I was a kid. Since there was an Anheuser-Busch Factory in St. Louis, we decided to check it out. It turned out to be one of our favorite activities of our vacation. Everyone enjoyed part, if not all, of the tour.

We arrived about 30 minutes before the first tour of the day, so we wandered around the displays in the lobby of the facility. Tons of cool historical memorabilia. Camden was in awe of all of the beer bottles through time and all the varieties Anheuser-Busch produces (well at least that's what the expression I caught seemed to indicate).

The adults were all amazed at the clydesdale horseshoe. It gives a real good visual of how massive these horses are...even in relation to other horses.

Camden also enjoyed dancing around on the little stage at the entrance to the tour and filled some of our wait time entertaining everyone else in the lobby.

One of the highlights of the tour was actually seeing the Clydesdales. Several were in an outside pen getting exercise.

Still others were in the stables.

Even the dalmatian mascots were roaming around.

One of the first buildings held the large storage tanks. Each tank held something like 36 barrels of beer. The guide told us that each tank held enough beers that if you drank one beer every hour every day, it would take approximately 120 years to drink all the beer in one tank.

Camden peeked in the windows at one assembly line. The guys were able to go down on one of the production floors, but Camden and I were taking the elevator down (because of her stroller), so missed that opportunity.

The tour was a good combination of inside and outside walking. I liked the view to downtown. You can even see the Arch from this vantage point.

Another highlight for Camden was the trolley ride back to the visitors center (where we got a snack and a few samples of product before the tour ended).

There were 3 adults in our party, so we got 6 different samples and shared them. Our favorites were "Shocktop" and a blueberry flavored beer (go figure, but it was yummy...and I barely tolerate the stuff normally)!
