Adventure Girl

We went to North Salem for their Old Fashion Days on Saturday afternoon.  Last year we tried to go and got rained out.  I remembered they had some rides, but when we got their they had some carnival food vendors but no rides and only one game.  They did, however, have a zipline set up. This is a new craze around us and we never felt like we wanted to pay the $7 for a 5 second ride.  However, it was shutting down for the day and they offered a 2-for-1 special.  Camden REALLY wanted to try it.

She just made the weight limit they verbally told me (50 pounds), although the sign at the zipline said 60.  I watched a little boy go down, asked his mom how much he weighed (47 lbs) and felt better about letting Camden go.  She got all strapped in.

We had watched 3 other kids about her age/size climb the stairs, get to the top, and change their minds.  Camden promised she wouldn't.  She really wanted to do it.  She got to the top and waited for the woman to her right to go.  I thought the wait might make her flip.

The gentleman re-checked her harness and turned the gate to open.

She listened to the instruction to sit back and lift her feet and off she went!

She wasn't heavy enough to get all the way to the bottom, so the staff had to help the last few yards.

The smile on her face as she ran to me told the story...she LOVED it!

Yea Camden! Aunt Carole wants to ride a zipline too - but Uncle Ric tells me I'm crazy:) Maybe we can ride one together.
