Disney: Day 6 - Hollywood Studios

We began and ended our trip at Hollywood Studios.  Our first afternoon was short, but this day was a full one of seeing everything.

I had developed horrible blisters on both my feet and walking was painful.  We joked that I should get a wheelchair...and then we realized it was actually a good idea.  Kevin was willing to push and Camden also took lots of turns in it while I pushed.

After a morning of some of our favorites, we stopped in the Star Wars area.  They are making a whole new Star Wars land in this park, but for now they are in a smaller section.

At that entrance:

Meeting some of the characters was next.  Kylo Ren was intimidating.

Chewbacca was much more friendly.

Some storm troopers entered the hallway while we were waiting in line.  Just like real security, we had to wait for permission to approach them.

By this point, it was lunchtime and we headed to our restaurant, 50's Prime Time Cafe.  It was on the far side of a small lake where we stopped for pictures with the lake dinosaur.

The waiting area is set up like a living room straight out of the 50's.  When it's your time to get go to your table, one of the "moms" calls you like she is calling her kids for dinner.

Our booth had it's own black and white TV which ran a loop of clips from 50's shows.  Our waiter also made sure we used all of our table manners.  You could get in trouble for putting your elbows on the table, not eating your vegetables, or using a cells phone at the table.  None of us got in trouble, but one of the tables nearby had some unruly kids who were in constant time-out.

We only had 2 meal credits left, so we split Aunt Liz's Fried Chicken (with mashed potatoes and veggies) and a Sampling of Mom's Favorites (chicken, meatloaf, and pot roast with fixin's).  This place is also known for their milkshakes and because we can get a "signature" drink (meaning alcohol at most restaurants) we got two of them.  Kevin and I split the PB&J one and Camden got a strawberry.  I normally would not be interested in that flavor, but, again, it is what they are known for and it definitely hit the spot.

To top off the meal, we split two desserts - cheesecake with strawberries and whipped cream and Dad's Favorite Chocolate-Peanut Butter Layered Cake ala mode.  As delicious as it looks!

We saw the Muppet Show, rode some rides, and met Olaf.

Afterward, we headed to Toy Story land.  We got to ride Slinky Dog Dash which is the newest, most popular ride at Disney.  Glad to have a fast pass for it, because the lines are long!

This is a smaller area and packed with people, but they still manage to do street entertainment.  The green army men come by in small packs.

It's so colorful and themed so well.

We decided to wait in line for Woody and Jessie.  It was another sweltering day!

Even Jessie was thankful for our cooling rags.

Next was the Buzz Lightyear ride.  Waiting in line we saw many of the friends from the movie.

Leaving the ride:

Before heading out, we had to get the snack most recommended from Woody's Lunch Box quick service restaurant: raspberry lunch box tart and chocolate hazelnut lunch box tart.  We ate them later that night when we got back to our hotel.

As we were leaving the park, the storm troopers paraded down the street.  Everyone had to clear out of the way and do as they said.

Our last park shots!
