Parke County 4-H Fair

The Parke County fair is held in Rockville which is just 15 minutes from our house.  This fair is small, but has all the stuff you love about a fair...animals, fair food, and rides.  We took them all in!

The midway was not crowded and the unlimited ride bracelet was reasonable (compared to purchasing individual tickets).  It was so great to just let Camden do everything she wanted over and over again.  She went through this fun house about 20 times (no kidding!).

There were several kiddie to mild adult rides and she took them all in.

We just got down one side of the midway when the rides started shutting down.  What!?!?  There was a parade that night and everything had to shut down.  Most of the people were around the main fairground and away from the midway.  So we sat down on a nice bench between rides and next to the parade route.  It was perfect!  We were the only people in sight and every group was throwing candy.  Thankfully we had a paper bag from one of the booths and our camera case because Camden was tossed an overflowing-plastic-grocery-bag amount of candy.

Then it was back to rides and games.

She decided to try one of the bid rides.  It was my favorite as a kid - the Scrambler.  It started slow and she looked fine, but then it sped up and her face was a little unsure.  When it stopped she looked at Kevin and I with such a dizzy, "Oh my goodness" expression we laughed so hard.  She liked it but was still a little hesitant to try anything else that big and went back to the smaller, calmer rides.

She did get this teacup ride spinning so fast that even the Carnie was a little concerned about her ability to walk afterward.  She is definitely an adventure seeker.

She won a few stuffed animals.

We had such a good night together.  It was a pretty perfect family night out.
