Preschool Graduate

There were 16 of the 23 kids who graduated.  They each put on a cap and were introduced.

They sang one last song together...and did a crazy dance.

They each received a diploma, a graduation star water bottle, and a CD of highlights from the year.  It's about an hour long and Camden watches it several times a day.  She loves seeing her friends (and herself) and remembering all the fun activities they did together.

Graduation Program

Friday night was Camden's final program...and graduation.

I grabbed a quick photo of Miss Lana with Camden when we arrived.

Camden had a huge cheering section.  Gaga, Grandpa, Gramma Pat, Grampa Jim, Aunt Carole, Uncle Ric, ReeRee, Papaw, and Austin were there to help us celebrate.

The program featured the kids showing off some of the things they learned this year:  The Pledge of Allegiance, ABC's (featuring sign language and sounds of each letter, including short and long vowel sounds), counting by 10's, and a few other skills.

They then did a cute "skit" called, "It's About Life" with each kid getting the spotlight briefly.  They also sang some very cute songs.

Camden's part was about waking up in the morning (hence the pajama's and blanket) and remembering to thank God for a new day.

The kids really know how to project!  Camden could actually be heard slightly above the others.  In fact, one man came up afterward and joked about the "set of lungs" she had.  She did a great job and made us smile the entire time.

Lots of fun motions and sign language throughout.

Teacher Appreciation

For the final week of school, one of the mother's organized teacher appreciation.  Each day, we did something special for Miss Lana and her two teacher aides.  She did sweet snacks on Monday with goodie bags and trays of treats for them to enjoy all day. I took Tuesday for breakfast and made a yummy (and new go-to) breakfast casserole and cinnamon coffee cake, along with sweet vases of neon daisies (picked out by Camden).  Not sure what Wednesday held, but Thursday was Olive Garden.

On Friday, she made lunch for the entire school.  Kevin and I went to help serve/assist.  It seemed a very weird, non-kid friendly meal but we made it through...

Camden was about the only one that loved deviled eggs.

The whole week was a very nice way to celebrate and thank this amazing crew of teachers.  We are very thankful for our Preschool experience.

Happy Birthday, Camden!

Summer birthdays were celebrated on Thursday at school.  The school makes a big deal on a kid's day - parent's usually bring cupcakes, crowns are worn, and the birthday kid gets special duties.  I was unsure if Camden was going to miss out on it because she is a July girl.  But, this is Miss Lana we are talking about.  She gave the 6 kids with summer b-days their day.  Three of the six were still there when I picked her up today, so I snapped a few pics of Camden and her fellow celebrants - Gavin and William.

I signed up for snack on this day so I could provide the cupcakes.  I thought it would be fun for each of the birthday kids to choose the theme for the cake decorations.  With a six pack for each, they would also get to take home a cupcake or two to share with family.

The store couldn't accommodate the Duck Dynasty or yellow excavator requests, so I had to go with option 2 for those 2 boys.  There were princesses (Claire), Batman (Clayton), Toy Story (Austin), Lightning McQueen (William), Superheroes (Gavin), and, of course, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Camden).

Happy (practice) birthday to our sweet, sweet Camden.

The Bouncy

She loves the neighbor's trampoline.  We've gone back twice in the past few weeks when a handful of girls have been playing.  They love Camden and indulge her directions and making up games for them to play.  Most of them will be 6th graders at Waveland next year, so I love that she will have older kids looking out for her.

Last night, the owners were out helping their young son get ready for baseball season and Camden asked if she could bounce.  Of course, they didn't mind.

The mom even worked with Camden on her throwing and catching skills.  Small town life is good in so many ways...

Wishes

Mamma...for you to make lots of wishes...

Boy...she had played hard today.  That face, those legs, her clothes, plus sticky hair....I love spring weather!

Pretty Face

I only wish I had caught her looking at the camera.  Such a pretty, pretty girl!
