Twin Lakes 2018

I dropped Camden off at Twin Lakes this morning!  She is ready for a fun week.

She was excited for the new lake activities - the Iceberg (a 16' climbable obstacle)  and an inflatable slide.  Plus the blob is still a thrill.

After check-in, we headed to her cabin.  She was the last to arrive and didn't get to pick her bunk.  It's on the bottom (my preference for her) and is a double.  Too bad I brought twin sheets (what we are told to pack)!  Thankfully, I also put in a blanket with the comforter, so she is set.

Her counselor is Haley (dark hair on the right).  Her older sister, Hannah, was Camden's first counselor at Twin Lakes two years ago.  Hannah is also now a nurse and working at camp this summer.  Haley is from Crawfordsville.  The Counselor in Training (CIT) is Brooklyn.

The cabin is right next to the nurses house and the camp store.  The chapel and dining hall is just across a small parking lot.  It is an ideal setting.  The cabin has two sides with half of the bunks and a restroom/shower in each side.   Haley said they just remodeled this cabin because they planned to make it the speakers cabin, but they had too many kids registered this summer and had to put in bunk beds instead.  So it's nice, clean, and spacious.

Camden squealed in delight that her friend from her bus/school, Nataly, was in her cabin.  They met last summer and were in the same group.  Turned out Nataly (dark hair to the right of Camden) is a grade younger at New Market and lives down the road from us.  Camden has been trying to get her invited over, but we had not exchanged contact information yet.  Gonna try to make that happen when I pick her up on Saturday.

As I was leaving, they were headed outside to do an activity.

It's going to be very hot this afternoon, so everyone was glad to hear that swimming was on the agenda.  This camp is such a wonderful thing.  So glad we can send her!
