Love Week: Kids Against Hunger

It's our church's annual community outreach week.  I've been taking pictures at various sites, but Wednesday night, the three of us participated in the kids activity.  Camden had been at Gramma Pat's, so she came along too.

We packed bags of nutrient-rich food that will be used internationally as well as here in the states.

Hairnets and aprons for everyone!

Then the assembly line begins.

After the bags are filled, sealed, and boxed, the kids get to decorate the boxes.

Finally, everyone could sample the food.

Farm Life

From the past several weeks:

Kevin and I converted an old, small pig shelter to an outside coop for the remaining chickens.  Kevin wants them to be layers.  They needed out of the horse stall, into fresh air, but they also had started flying out of the stall.

We did have a coon get in and eat 4 of them, before Kevin could get the coon.  No problems since!

Camp Pickup

We picked Camden up from camp on Saturday morning.  She was watching for us and came running.  One of our favorite sights each year!

Then she took us over to her table for cinnamon rolls.  And told us stories of the week.

The morning closed with a short chapel and recap of the week from the staff.

Family Pictures

With many gathered at Grandma Beasley's funeral, we took pictures.  Not always at the best angles, we did manage to get a few nice ones.

Camden in rare form!  She had everyone laughing with her faces on the first few takes.  But then a decent one.

Glimpses

The camp posts lots of pictures throughout the week. I always scroll through and see if I can see Camden.  With 200 kids there this week, it is rare, but I did find her in a few.

There is always a picture of each of the cabins with their counselors.

Chapel is another time where she is usually spotted in the crowd.  They also live stream the service, so we can watch and know what they are teaching.

Can't wait to pick her up on Saturday morning.

Grandma Beasley

Kevin's Grandma Beasley passed away this morning.  She was one amazing woman who fiercely loved her family.  Her presence and love will be greatly missed!  So glad I have so many pictures of her with Camden.
