Pokeball Hunt and Water Balloon Fight

Because it has been so hot, I planned most of the party games to be inside, but since we did head out for the trampoline, the kids also did a pokeball hunt and a water balloon fight.

I bought gumball machine containers that had a red lid so it looked like a Pokeball.  Inside were rubber balls, tattoos, stickers, etc.  There were also plastic golf balls hidden that they could trade in for prizes and candy.

They divided up into three teams and threw water balloons at each other.  I think this was the highlight for kids and adults alike.

Birthday Presents

After fueling up on food, it was time for presents.  She got some really cute things from her friends.

Money, a bed tent, and a huge Pikachu plush were received from family.  Boy was she excited!

We got her a pretty big gift that we didn't think we would ever get.  But being in our new home, we realized we need an outdoor activity.  She would outgrow a play set in the next few years (plus they are 3-4x the cost).  Her face tells it all...

A trampoline!  I researched and researched, and found the safest, most recommended one.  We also got a larger one (15') because we wanted it to be safe for a few kids at a time.

We did let all the kids get on at first, then kept it at 4 kids max the rest of the time.

She has spent at least 30 minutes every day jumping on this (by herself).  Yesterday we were gone for most of the afternoon/evening, but she wanted to go out at 9pm.  She jumped until the light was almost gone from the sky.  I enjoy sitting on the back porch, listening to all the noises around us, and watching her go.

Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday, Camden!  Hard to believe you are 9 years old today.  I'm so thankful for you.

You bring so much joy and laughter to our home.  Your quick wit and goofiness are such a treasure.

You are also so tenderhearted.  Sensitive to words, caring about others, and quick to express your love.  Your air smooches with your dad are some of his favorites.

You are our smart, sweet, stubborn, pretty, challenging, messy, loving, funny, fantabulous baby girl!

We love you!

Pokemon Food

Pokemon Games (indoor)

First up was Pin the Pokeball on the Pokemon.  I always think this kind of game is going to be too young, but kids seem to always like it.

Next we went into the kitchen to shoot a nerf suction gun at Team Rocket (they are the bad guys in Pokemon...always trying to steal your Pokemon).  Dalton helped cock the gun while the kids each took 6 shots.   I believe Preslee had the most hits with 3.  Most of them had 1 or 2.
