Kona Ice

After playing so hard on the playground and a trip around the small zoo, we needed a treat.  I wanted a fruit drink so we headed to the car to drive around to the Frozen Custard.  But, as if on cue, the Kona Ice truck pulled up next to the playground and Camden got her treat there.

She enjoyed getting to select her own flavors.  Of course, she got a squirt of almost every one!

Zoo Day

It was a beautiful day (last weekend) and we were in Lafayette so we decided to get some outdoor play at Columbian Park.  The zoo was open so we popped over there for some animal encounters.

The monkeys were talking up a storm.  It was hilarious!

She loves her new "Fire Princess" dress.  It matched perfectly with the butterfly statue.

Awards Celebration

Camden was getting a homework award and all-year honor roll award.  We were glad it was on a Tuesday, because Kevin was able to go as well.

July Birthday Celebration

On the last day of school, Camden's class celebrated those who have July birthdays.  That was Camden and Mrs. Chadd.

I did store bought cupcakes because...well it was just easier.  And kids tend to like that more anyway.

Last Day of School Poses

Daddy got a few snapshots of our 2nd grader (for the last time) as we left for breakfast.  Where she gets these poses are anyone's guess!

End of Year Traditions

We decided to start a new tradition on the last day of school - breakfast at McDonald's!

And, of course, we had to end the day with an ice cream splurge.  We've done this every year.  This year we went to Up the Creek.  She chose a Dirt Sundae!

Can you tell she went swimming at her friends house after school?  Those cheeks are sun-kissed!

Anger Issues!

Camden was in her room playing games on my phone.  Kevin and I were in the living room when we heard a big crash.  It sounded like Legos being dumped, but I knew we had already cleared her room of those toys.  I called her out and asked her what that sound was.

"I got angry at the game I was playing and kicked my window.  It broke."  Oh my!  Was she hurt?  Was she bleeding?  Is there glass everywhere?  She had a little dot of blood on the side of her foot and immediately went into hysterics.  Geesh.  I got a bandaid and Kevin went to see the damage.

We are very thankful that it is a double pane window so that we don't have to board it up.  And even more thankful that her heavy curtains were closed so that her foot/leg was not severely cut.  But we had quite the talk about anger.  Geesh!

Wabash Family Picnic

My first day of work was also the annual family picnic for Wabash faculty and staff.  One of my co-workers, She, invited Kevin, Camden and I to join her.  Camden was thrilled to go to the "carnival".  There were only a few bounce items and pony rides, but it was perfect for a short evening.

Another of my coworkers, Trish, is married to one of Kevin's favorite co-workers from Raybestos.  They enjoyed catching up and we sat with them for the cookout.

Wabash Center

I started my new job today at the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion.  The Center's building is only 7 years old and beautiful!  I'm learning how to navigate a Mac computer and will jump into the database tomorrow.

It took me 5 minutes to get to my new office after I dropped Camden off at school.  The office bought the staff coffee from the coffee house (1832 Brewhouse) on campus and the 3 other ladies in the office took me to lunch.  I'm going to love this!

Harlem Wizards, Part 2

Kevin had more pictures on his phone of the Harlem Wizards game.  Boy these two have so much fun together.

At half-time the kids got to go shoot hoops on the court.  Camden is sprinting back and forth.
