The Fourth

I didn't get my camera out until the end of the day and so no pictures of our fun day celebrating the Fourth.  The three of us took Gramma Pat to Peachey's hoping to get fresh, hot Amish donuts for breakfast.  Unfortunately, the daughter who makes them just had a baby so no doughnuts for a few months.  We did get some other baked goodies, along with other bulk items and then headed out to various Amish farms for fresh produce.

I was hoping to get some fresh berries to make some kind of freezer jam, but it's right between a few seasons.  Blueberries are just coming in and blackberries/peaches shouldn't be too far behind.  Maybe next weekend!

We got home around noon and made some yummy chicken salad for a light lunch.  Around 3pm, GaGa, Grandpa, PaPaw, and Austin came over.  We had a nice visit and a shrimp boil for dinner.  So good!!!! I still can't believe I didn't take any pictures!

This whole time, from about noon on, Camden was across the street playing with her best friend Jenna and her twin Jasper, along with their older brother Jacob and a family friend.  They had water fights and jumped on their small trampoline.  They also have a small bounce house and electric cars.  Definitely fun neighbors for her to play with.  She even had their dinner only wanting an ear of corn out of the boil.

About dusk, Jenna's dad got his stash of fireworks going.  He does a great display every year.  Camden enjoyed sparklers/flares and viewing from their house, while Kevin, Gramma Pat, and I set our chairs up in our yard.

He had lots of fountains and plenty of high flying rockets.  His grand finale was truly spectacular and lit up the entire sky.  Great end to a great day!
