Sugar Creek

Camden and I spent the day on Saturday shopping in Indy. She is at a stage where she is just so fun to be with. We talk on the ride. She jabbers and tells me all kinds of stories. She laughs and giggles. She's obsessed right now with her Uncle Ric and Aunt Carole and talks about them all the time....with a few Ree Ree's and LaLa's thrown in for good measure. Grampa Jim and Gramma Pat come up sometimes too. She has quite a memory and likes to talk about things she's recently done or people she's recently seen. She does much better in stores and helps pick out items we need, too. We stopped at Chick-fil-A for lunch because she loves the play area there. She even pulled herself up through the climbing tube so she could go through the tunnels and down the slide. Other parents and I were impressed with how strong (and brave) she was for her age and size to pull herself up there.

When we got home (and after dinner), Kevin wanted to get out of the house for a bit, so we headed to Turkey Run State Park. We hadn't ventured down to the Sugar Creek, so that's where we headed. Camden led the way.

Camden held both our hands and walked all 70 steps down to the creek level. She had a ball playing on the water's edge.

Kevin helped her find a few shells and she is showing it to me (but really distracted by the kids who are fishing down the sand bar).

Then she dug in the sand and made water puddles. We decided not to let her get her feet in the water this time and she did a good job of staying on the bank and playing.

She also discovered throwing rocks in the water. While she enjoyed throwing the big stones one at a time, she much preferred picking up a handful of small ones and giving them a toss.

When it was time to leave, her hands were filthy, so Kevin helped her rinse them off in the water.

We then had to walk the 70 steps back up. Camden took them each in one stride.

She's becoming such a big girl and we love every outing with her!
