Camden's Birthday Party - The Cake

Her party theme all started with a request for a dragon cake.  I took to Google/Pinterest to search.  I created a box with pictures of those I thought I could recreate.  She had mentioned she wanted a cupcake cake so I wasn't surprised when she picked this design.

I thought for sure she would pick a few of the other options, but I decided to go with it.  I baked the cupcakes, but bought the 4 colors of whippy frosting (I mixed to make orange).  It really only took about 15 minutes to decorate.  Easy...and not too bad for just using a piping bag with tip cut off (not as precise as a piping tip).

She thought it was amazing so I can live with it!

I was waiting for the red and black tongues.

Somebody got the "Settle" gene and likes frosting as much as her grandma and great aunt.

Camden Birthday Party - Games

We had lots of free play time.  Some kids stayed inside and played giant Jenga or with stuffed animals in Camden's room.

We gathered everyone together in the middle and had a pinĂ¡ta.

Paxton knocked it clear off the hanger.  Cousin Joseph and Kevin to the rescue.

Lots of hits from the older kids with blindfolds and some solid hits from the little ones without.

After every kid had a turn, the big "kid" Joseph gave it one good whack and the candy and beanie dragons went flying!

The trampoline was also in constant use.

Camden Birthday Party - Presents

Camden was so excited for present time.  She had been requesting it since we left the pool.

This crew (plus family) was so generous with her.  She loved everything!

Her reaction to the giant Beanie Boos unicorn her daddy got her.

Frozone (from Sophia) is her latest favorite character.

She got a few headbands.  It's hard to see, but these cat ears are adorable.

Her friend Nataly decorated the card envelope and wrote a very nice note inside.  It was one of my favorites.

The bath bomb kit from Aunt Carole and Uncle Ric was a big hit too.  Hidden inside were small Pokemon characters (not expected, but hugely successful).  The scents are interesting and she can't wait to use them.

Camden's Birthday Party - Dinner

Camden wanted a dragon cake, so that became the theme.  She also picked out a few of her favorite foods to be dragon food.  She even picked out their names.

The weather was still cooperating, so some were able to sit outside on the porch for dinner.  We had a simple menu of hot dogs/brats, chips, baked mac & cheese, cucumber & tomato salad, and fruit.

Most of the kiddos (plus "one lucky mama") sat in the living room.

Grandma Pat (getting coffee in the background), GaGa, Grandpa, Kevin's Aunt Thelma, and her boyfriend Cheese rounded out the guest.
