The Angels

The angels were, in my humble opinion, the highlight of the show!

They stood front and center for the song that was signed.  It really was a moving moment!  One parent video taped the program and I need to get a copy because it simply was so well done and pictures don't do it justice.

"God's promise

of peace

is

Jesus"

The angels opened a fifth gift of bells and everyone got a ring of bells for the next song.

Christmas Program

The Friday before Christmas, Camden's preschool did their Christmas program, "A Bunch of Gifts."  Miss Lana once again outdid it.  This was simply beautiful, amazing, and tender.  Three kids were out sick and Joseph should have been, but the remaining 20 kids sung their little hearts out.  The opening number was the theme song, but before they got started, everyone gave their best waves to their parents so they could focus the rest of the program.

Mary and Joseph were introduced and the first gift was retrieved by the "getter".  He went into the audience and found a wrapped present as Miss Lana narrated.

Songs were also interspersed between the narrative.  The song about the cows, chickens, and cat at the manger was quite comical (especially Camden's expressions when she mooed, bawked, and meowed).

The shepherds and sheep were next, followed by 4 beautiful angels (next post).

Finally, the shiny star led the three two wise men (flu!) to the scene.

They opened the fourth gift (gold, frankensense and myrrh) before heading to manger to worship.

Snow Play 1

We got a nice layer of snow and Camden got the chance to try out her new snow boots.

Guess I should have put on pink gloves to make the outfit complete (I still marvel that I was not going to have my daughter be a "pink" girl).

Of course she had to make some snow angels.  The thin layer was perfect!

Max decided he was brave enough (and curious enough) to venture out on the porch to check out the snow.

Camden tried a bite of snow and was hooked.  She spent the last ten minutes of our time outside eating as much clean white snow as she could!

Even though we haven't been outside since, we got 6-10 inches of snow over the last few days, so I'm sure we will have a "snow play 2" soon.

Dessert Masterpiece

I didn't get a good picture, but I think I reached dessert nirvana this holiday.  For our small group Christmas party, I made a red velvet cheesecake layer cake.  I must say it was one of the best things I have made.  Despite the fact that the picture is mid-eat and a little sloppy from cutting, it was a beautiful thing!

Church BFF

One of Camden's favorite friends at church is Bethie.  Imagine her happiness when we walked into Sunday School and she and Bethie were dressed in the same Christmas outfit!  There was much laughing and hugging!

A few other good shots of Camden in her outfit.  I had to get her a new pair of dress shoes and was shocked that I needed to get a size 11!  She just upsized to 10's in August.  She is growing so fast (at least her feet are!).
