Art?

Speaking of paint....Camden wanted to paint on Saturday evening.  I was putting groceries away, so asked Camden to go play until I could get things out.  I usually put paper, water bowl, brush, and a paper plate with splots of each color on it.  However, I finished with the groceries and she was busy.  So I set everything out, sans the paint on the plate.  About a half hour later, she was ready to paint.  She had watched me enough (and I was in the middle of a good book) that I decided she could put the paint on the paper plate.  I could see her put the first three colors down and everything looked fine.

I hear her singing and chattering away for the next half hour or so.  Then I get up to check on her and this is what I see....

It's actually not as messy as it could have been.  She kept (most) everything on the paper and paper plate.  However, the 10 bottles of paint were practically new.  Now they were practically empty.

Boy, I wanted to laugh!  But I also wanted to make sure she knew she couldn't waste like that....come on - there was an inch deep well of paint soup!

Plus, a 3-D painting.  Both were actually kinda cool.  And clean-up wasn't that hard.  I couldn't really be too upset!

Mother's Day

Kevin reports the two requests Camden had in choosing my gift were kittens and paint.  They went to Wally World and were able to find a BOBBLEHEAD kitten (and doggie) that needed painted.

She apparently got tired while painting the cat and said Kevin could paint the dog.  I declare them one of the best Mother's Day gifts EVER.  They proudly sit on my desk now.

No...the best MD gift ever was later that night as Camden and I lay in bed and recounted all the goodness of the day.  Just before we stopped talking I said, "Camden, I sure do love being your mom."  Her sweet, sleepy reply, "And I sure love being your baby girl."

Bouce House

Kohl's summer sale + an additional 20% off + Kohl's cash = new play option.

She's not as thrilled that she can't bounce as high as on the trampoline, but I like that it's much safer!

Tee Time

Camden and Kevin have been enjoy time on the links.  The two of them did 9 holes on Tuesday morning while I worked from home and they go with GaGa and Grandpa on Thursday mornings for a scramble.  She should be a pretty good putter by the end of the summer if they keep going 1 or 2 times each week!

Saturday Fun

We packed our Saturday full of activities.  Before Kevin had to go to work, we headed to Home Depot for Kid's workshop.  Camden made a pretty plant holder - painted pink and purple.

After a quick stop at Urgent Care to get me some medicine to clear a sinus infection, we went to Jump It! for a few hours of exercise/play.

We meet up with family for dinner and then headed out to Aunt Carole's for visiting.  Camden played with her favorite dog, Hank (and Uncle Ric) and hunted a few mushrooms with ReeRee.

Hoyt Paul Reed

Our niece, Amanda, had her baby boy.  Hoyt joins big sisters Hali and Preslee.  We were able to go visit him.  We took a gift for him, but also a bunny for each of the girls.  I loved how Camden brought them into the hospital.

He is a sweet little thing.  He slept most of the time we were there, but did some fun sleeping grunts and did open his eyes to greet us.

Camden did a good job holding him (with a little help from me).

Welcome to the family, sweet baby boy!

Graduation Celebration

Camden was completely wired and could hardly stand still for pictures.  It was not fun trying to get her to stop, listen and look at the camera.  I actually can't believe we got as many good ones as we did!

There was cake at the school, but we opted to stop at Culver's for ice cream and visiting.  All the grandparents got Camden graduation gifts (yea, this mom failed to even think about that idea).  Guess that's what grandparents are for!

Camden simply adores her Uncle Ric and enjoyed sitting next to him and being goofy!

Before she left, we also were able to give Gramma Pat her Mother's Day gift since we wouldn't see her next weekend.
