Cake Pops

I haven't made any in so long, but Camden loves getting them at Starbucks.  They are always changing up the designs often to go with the season, but sometimes just to something cute.  Kevin and her stopped this past weekend and she got their latest adorable creation.

Colts Preseason

Kevin and I were given tickets to last weekend's Colts game against San Francisco.  They told us they weren't great seats, but we loved them!  They were in the middle section below the box seats.  We were on the top row and had a TV on a pillar just to the right of us so we could see all the action up close and see replays.

We walked around a bit before the game and just enjoyed our time together.

Ginger Poo

Ginger is being spayed today.  The car ride was quite the experience.  She sat in the back on the way to drop Camden at school.

She climbed into the front seat after I dropped Camden off.  And she whined the entire time...and shed everywhere!

She was fascinated by the cars driving past on the other side of the road.  Her head would whip back and forth as each one zoomed passed us.  And she would whine....and shed...whine...and shed.  The car will need a thorough vacuuming to get rid of the hair.

25 Days!!!

The countdown has begun at our house.  Our Disney vacation is less than a month away.  We are so excited.  Our Magical Express tickets came last week (this is the free bus service from the airport to our resort.  They also handle all of our luggage from the time we check in at Indy.  We arrive to our room with our bags waiting for us!).  Yesterday, our Magic Bands came.

These bands are everything at Disney.  We scan them as our ticket to get into the parks, they are our room keys, they hold our dining reservations and credits that we scan to "pay," and we can also use them to purchase souvenirs or other items.  We get to pick our colors and can personalize the back (our names and date as outlined on the packaging).

The box also contains a Disney luggage tag for each of our bags and a Magical "Extra" Card for a few other activities that are included in our stay - miniature golf and entrance to ESPN World of Sports.

Everything is finalized...just need to pack.  We are so ready!

Skip-Bo Pro

Evenings lately have involved playing games.  We decided to teach her Skip-Bo and she took to it quickly - even requesting to play it the next day.

Our other favorite game of late, is Wits & Wagers.  We've played it with her friends and with Gramma Pat.  It's perfect for everyone, quick to learn, each game doesn't last long, etc.  Actually learn some interesting facts too!

Plantains

This fruit is becoming a go-to for me.  I love the Trader Joe's chips dipped in guacamole or eaten plain.  It's been a favorite lunch of mine lately.

While searching for some recipes, I came across plantain tacos.  We love tacos (Camden doesn't; she just has a quesadilla) and were looking for an alternative to store bought tortilla shells or just taco salad.  The recipe seemed simple so I gave it a try.  Success!  This will become a regular on our dinner menus.

I made them small (about the size of a traditional corn tortilla from a taqueria) and next time might try a little bigger.  They were very pliable and I could fill them with meat and other toppings easily.  Kevin still made a taco salad and just filled the shells as he ate with his salad.

I have two more plantains so tomorrow night we are going to try a similar recipe but for a pizza crust.

Build A Bear

We tried to do "pay your age" at Build A Bear this summer.  I took one look at the line and said no.  But we did get a voucher for $15 off a bear in the future.

We headed there on Saturday.  Hadn't done this in forever and forgot how cute the process is.

Getting it stuffed to the perfect huggable level.

Conducting the heart ceremony before it gets put inside her cat.

Getting "Fluffy" all cleaned up.

We chose the box option to bring her home.  Camden has been coloring that box every day since.  It's really become a work of art.

We walked the mall briefly afterward.  Camden discovered Claire's.  I foresee more unicorn and cat ear headbands in our future.

Fair Oaks Farm Visit

We bought the Adventure Pass when we visited earlier this spring, so other visits would be free for the year.  We also have guest passes, so headed there on Saturday with Sophia.

Our first tour was the pig barn about 40 minutes after we arrived, so we headed down to the crop building for a quick stop since it's the smallest building and next to the pork building.

3-D Optical illusion!

We waited briefly for our bus, then explored the pig adventure.

The baby area is always our favorite.  This was the first time in the 4 or 5 visits we have been here that we actually got to see a piglet born.  When the worker brought a pig up to the viewing area and answered questions, she brought one of them that had just been born.  He was like 10 minutes old!

Back to the pork building for the ropes course.  Both girls were leery at first and Camden didn't venture very far.  Sophia, however, got the hang of it and explored both levels and many obstacles.

We had a brief time before our bus for the cow adventure.  When we left the pork building, the green light was on the birthing barn. This means a calf is imminent.  We made it inside to see the birth happen.

The girls enjoyed time on the outside trampoline before our bus.  When we returned we got lunch in the cowfé and then did some more outside play.

Camden tried to climb the wall, while Sophia continued to master the trampoline jump.  Camden and her dad also went to the birthing barn again.

What a fun day exploring!  Always so thankful for time together.
