Indianapolis 500

Kevin started the tradition of getting a t-shirt for Austin at the 500.  Camden is now the recipient.  The 99th running of the race was a great one and we had a great time (despite getting just a wee bit sunburned).  Can't wait until next year!

Butterfly Garden

Our last stop at the Zoo was the Butterfly Exhibit.  There was an indoor atrium, but the outdoor gardens were our favorites.  I made Camden pose for some portraits.  She was not pleased that I made her do this, but I actually like the expressions she gave me...and the colors are beautiful.

Indianapolis Zoo Field Trip

Camden's final First Grade field trip was last week.

Her friend Macie explored the zoo with us.  They consulted the map (and were obsessed with it the entire day!) and off we went.

Lions and tigers and bears were the first area!

Then off to the Plains for giraffes, zebras, elephants and more.

Camden feed the giraffe a carrot.  She couldn't believe how long it's tongue was or how quickly it ate.

We also did a few rides along the way.

Over to the Oceans area.

The dog sharks are always popular.  The kids try to pet them with two fingers (see Camden poised to get one!).  Macie was the first to actually touch one, and Camden was successful three times.

It was such a great day together!

Golf with Dad

Camden and Kevin did 9 holes one afternoon last week.  Camden did her own driving and putting.  She loved that special time with dad!

Prize Money Awarded

We were also finally able to get Gramma Pat her prize money from the carnival.  Camden did a whole "ta-da" moment.  She was so excited to give it to Gramma.

Gramma Pat Craft

Gramma Pat came home with us after the bridal shower and spent the night.  While I cooked dinner, she and Camden did a few crafts.

Bridal Shower

My cousin Scott's son, Michael, is getting married this month.  My other cousins, Mindy and Marissa (Scott's sisters), threw a bridal shower for the beautiful bride, Elizabeth.  These two sisters are so talented and throwing a party is at the top of the list.

The table was so creative and perfect.

The spread of food was delicious.

Even the kid's table was special.

Love this picture of Camden with her Great Aunt Linda!

The bride with her mother (on right) and her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Julie (on left).

Finally, three beautiful women, Aunt Linda, my mom (Gramma Pat), and Aunt Karen.

Such a joy-filled occasion.

Ree Ree Graduates from Purdue

We didn't get to attend the ceremony (and I'm not complaining!), but ReeRee became the third, and final, Braund cousin to graduate from Purdue.

We headed to Lafayette to celebrate with the family.  Joe, Amanda and their two, plus Lauren and her beau, and Gramma Pat were there.

It was our first time meeting this handsome boy!  Look at Luke's lloooonnnngggg lashes!

Olivia enjoyed hanging outside with Camden (and the men) playing fetch with the dogs.

I never get over how she twists her body to get as much force and energy into the ball.

Luke enjoyed all the lovin' from his great grandma too.

Rachel's celebration meal request were these amazing spicy pineapple tostada/taco things.  They are delicious and authentic (Joseph learned it from Mexican co-workers at Don Pablo's).  She also wanted cheesecake.  Aunt Carole made a yummy turtle one and I made German Chocolate and Raspberry.  Oh my!

Family time is so good!

Congratulations ReeRee!  We are so proud of you!
