Reno Byproduct

Camden is really excited about her new bathroom.  However, the best thing about the reno has been the box the vanity came in.  Camden has another round of pink eye, as well as an ear/throat infection so we have been staying at home as much as possible and the box has been welcome entertainment.

She has spent many an hour playing/laying in the box.

Max has also played a integral part of the imaginative activities.

It Begins

Our first major job on our house is to redo Camden's/guest bath.  There is some underlay water damage from two kids getting too much water outside the tub during baths...and even more around the toilet area.  So the first stage of the project is gutting everything so Kevin and Pop/Papaw can replace the damaged floor.

We have picked every major replacement...just hope it all works together.  The floor is beautiful and the vanity top is gorgeous, but it's a bit of a stretch for them to go together.  We are hoping the accent wall color we decided to add instead of entirely white walls will pull everything together.  More pictures as they make progress...

Happy Birthday, GaGa!

We celebrated GaGa's special day (and Father's Day for Grandpa) at O'Charley's on Monday night.  Camden then wanted them to experience her favorite frozen yogurt treat and topping bar at Pink Walrus.  Great fun with family.  We love you!

Turkey Run Diving

Camden took her first jump off a diving board when she and Kevin went to Turkey Run this week.

Their rule is that a lifeguard has to be in the water to catch - not parents.  Like it!

So did Camden, because every time the guard was free, she was asking to jump!

I think she only went 6 or 7 times (Kevin lost count)!  Good job, brave girl!

Cookout & Pool Party

Amanda and Dalton had a cookout on Saturday.  I knew Camden would enjoy some time with her cousins - especially in their little pool.

Preslee is such a little ham!

The three were stuck together like glue.  Such fun memories.

Sprinkler Fun

Paxton came over for the evening last Friday.  I was going to make dinner, but it had been a long day and I knew they would love kids meals.

We had the little pool out and the TMNT sprinkler.  It's no wonder those things are timeless...they had so much fun!  Everything is always more fun with a playmate too.

At some point a hose/squirt gun water fight ensued.

New Bike, Part II

At one booth, Camden signed up to win a bike.  The guy had to talk her into it.  She told him she already had a new bike.  He suggested a spare could be for when someone comes over to play.  Of course, she thought of Paxton, and entered the drawing.

On Sunday after church our phone rang.  Kevin answered and I heard him say, "Yes, this is Camden's dad.  Okay.  By 5."  He got off and reported that Camden had won the bike!  She and I headed back to the Strawberry Festival to pick it up that afternoon.

It's a 20" without training wheels.  So basically we are set for bikes until she can drive!  Well, at least until she is quite a bit older/bigger.  It looks black, but it's purple with pink accents.  PERFECT!

She even got a new bike helmet...again, next size/stage of growth.

Strawberry Festival

While I had my hair done on Saturday morning, Kevin and Camden went to the Strawberry Festival.

It was less crowded in the morning and Camden got to do the usual kid area stuff.

She did throw a Ping-Pong into the fish bowl and we brought home Louise II.  We'll see if she likes being Ruby's bowl mate.  From the way Camden was manhandling the bag, my guess is the fish won't last but a day or two.

The free paint fence is always a hit.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Carole

Aunt Carole's birthday was Tuesday.  Kevin, Camden and I joined the family at Sylvia's Brick Oven for a dinner celebration.

The food was okay, but Camden really enjoyed watching the pizza maker toss the dough and put it in the hot oven.

Afterward, we headed to their house for a 100% gluten-free blueberry crunch pie (per birthday girl's diet restriction), opening of presents, and just hanging out.  I must say (even though I made it), it was yummy!

Speaking of 100%, Camden was 100% exhausted by 7:30pm.  That's saying alot since she is my late girl, usually going to bed between 9-10pm.  The camp and the early morning commute is taking it's toll.  She and I were staying the night to save some sleep and drive time, but Camden was having none of it.  She screamed and cried to go home for almost an hour (at least it felt like it!).  I have never seen her that tired.  Goodness!  At least once she woke up she was her normal self.

Morning Monster

Since we have to leave the house by 7am to make it to campus in time for BKC, I usually carry Camden to the car in her PJ's and let her sleep/rest a little bit on the drive.  Because the sun is already up and shining bright, this is usually who/what I have sleeping in my backseat.

Red Mango

We have recently discovered the wonderful world of frozen yogurt bars.  Camden has previously done Pink Walrus, but after BKC this week, I took her to Red Mango which is right near campus.  She loves deciding her flavor of yogurt, but then to be able to put multiple toppings is pure delight!

She is a brownie girl right now, so the little brownie squares were a must.  Additionally, the little bubbles of juice (have no idea what they are called) were discovered.  Finally a few scoops of fresh fruit of some kind (raspberries today) and some sprinkles made the perfect sundae.

With all those toppings she didn't even realize they didn't have any cherries for on top.  Another "must" on any ice cream treat for Camden.  She was a happy (goofy) girl!
