On My Own

Camden is trying to do things on her own. She's not quite figured out how to move on her own, but she tries her best to take care of her "nippy" when she needs it.

She, obviously, hasn't mastered it yet!

She also tries to feed herself too. However, the bottle just seems a little too heavy right now.

Speaking of feeding...Camden just had her 7-month birthday on Thursday (Happy Birthday, Baby Girl). So far in a little over a month, Camden has tried: rice cereal, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, bananas, pears, barley cereal, peaches, and avacado. I've been making all her food, except green beans, peas and peaches which were all too labor intensive for the end result. Tomorrow we will try apples!

And check out her hair. There is so much of it now (relatively speaking) and look how dark (and possibly red) it is turning. Ahhhh...she's just so adorable!

Learning to Stand

Camden has been practicing her standing skills. She leans up against Daddy's legs and shows off her new abilities. But she also likes to stand just holding his hands. It won't be long before she attempts to be mobile!

She's pretty proud of herself (and so are we!).

Lora's Visit

Our friend Lora came back to Lafayette (from her new home in Denver) for the weekend. We enjoyed getting together with her and some of the other Frinks pals to celebrate birthdays and catch up. Camden sat in a high chair like a big girl (I think it was her first time not in her car seat).

Lora was one of Camden's first visitors after she was born, so she has earned an EXTRA special place in our hearts.

We love and miss you Lora.

4-Wheelers

Daddy bought a new four-wheeler on Saturday. Camden enjoyed shopping and helping him pick it out. Of course, she preferred the pink one.

And she made sure to read the instructions first. She's such a smart girl!

We also checked out the side-by-sides...

...and the big 500's (which Daddy ended up buying; well, not this exact one, but a cool Honda).

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

Camden enjoys her baths now that she gets to sit up in the sink.

She loves to splash the water...and get everyone wet.

Even when she's soaked like a drowned cat, she is amazingly beautiful!

Happy Valentine's Day

Camden sends everyone lots of love and kisses on Valentine's Day.

She especially wants to tell her Daddy that she loves him very much!

Playing Like a Big Girl

Camden has now mastered the skill of sitting up. She loves to sit and play on her own. It makes such a difference to her Daddy and I to be able to be "hands free" for a little while.

Sleeper Blanket

I made Camden a sleeper blanket so I could rest easier knowing she was warm, but not in danger from a big blanket covering her face in the middle of the night. I picked some cute patterned material and lined it with lime green. I wanted to make it reversible, but it got too complicated. I also cut the neck opening too big, so had to adjust the straps, which don't lay as nice as they can. The positive spin on that error is that as she grows I can move the snaps up. She should be able to wear it next fall and winter too (unless she grows like a weed). Overall, Camden looks pretty cute...and she slept like a baby last night!

*Click* *Click*

Camden has learned a new skill that she likes to show off. She can click her tongue. Her other favorite activity this week is to make a grunt or a squeal and have you repeat it after her. She's discovering a whole new world of interaction and sounds. Such fun!

Are those eyes to die for or what?!?

Girl's Day Out

Camden and I had a wonderful day together on Saturday. We went to Columbus for a visit with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim. We stopped for lunch at Chick-fil-A in Avon about halfway through the drive. It was a perfect break and Camden and I enjoyed slowing down and having lunch together.

It's the middle of tax season for Grandma, so she was so happy to have a fun visit from Camden. And I think Camden was pretty thrilled to see her Grandma too.

The three of us girls went to the fabric store to get some material for a blanket sleeper I'm making for Camden (thanks for the idea, Ashley!). When we got back home Grandma and Camden read some books together.

We stayed for supper then made the drive back home just in time for Camden to have some cuddle time with both her Daddy and I before going to bed. It was a GREAT day and I loved being out and about with my baby girl.

"6-month" Update

Camden had her 6-month doctor's appointment on Thursday. She weighed 16lbs and was 25 1/2" long. The doctor pronounced her "perfect" (like we didn't already know that!).

Papaw Haile

Papaw has been in Texas all winter, but needed to come home to take care of some business. We loved seeing him and he had several fun visits with Camden. She loved grabbing his nose and playing with his whiskers. He's clean shaven in these pictures, but on other visits he had some "scruff," which reminded her of her Daddy.

Mr. Froggie

Camden is really amused by her own antics. I love her giggle!

Beware of the ending...I had to leave it on, though, cause it made me giggle!

Got Squash?

Today we tried our first vegetable. At the start, she wasn't quite sure what to think of butternut squash.

Although she ended up eating every last bite without complaint, we got some pretty amusing faces.
