Baby girl is half way to one year - WOW!!!! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were sitting in the hospital waiting on our pride and joy to finally join us. So since she hit the big .5, it was time to celebrate! We made some half cookies and took them to our Bible study. Bad picture, but yummy cookies!
So many changes are happening and Camden is growing like a weed. She successfully rolled over yesterday several times from her back to her front. She is eating rice cereal faster than you can put it in her mouth. She loves sitting up to play. And we've had to raise her jumper because she is getting so "tall."
She can actually sit next to her bear this month without having to be propped up. She's also almost as big as it now, too. The little bear seems like a miniature in her lap.
We can't wait to see what the next 6 months holds. We love you, Camden Raye.

Bath time
Camden likes to get a bath. We still only give her one every couple of days, but she loves the water (and the attention from both mommy and daddy).
And look at her compared to her first bath in this tub when she was just about a month old. So tiny and so scared!
We may have to move up to the sink or even the tub in the near future. She's getting to be such a big girl now.Monday, January 26, 2009
Playing Cards with Grandma
Grandma and Grandpa French came over on Saturday night to play Euchre. Camden loved sitting on Grandma's lap and helping her decide which card to play.
Camden was really happy with this hand and couldn't believe their luck!
But then she thought she caught her Mommy trying to cheat and peek at her and Grandma's hand. She gave me a look that told me to think again!
But in the end, of course, all she really wanted to do was put the cards in her mouth!

Toy Blocks
Camden got some toy blocks for Christmas and really enjoys playing with them.
She thinks the best thing is all the noise they make when she bangs them together or against something else. But she also likes the box they come in. She loves putting them in the box and out of the box. Many times it's just a lucky drop, but she's definitely warming up to the idea of "play."
She hasn't quite figured out how to put the shapes through the lid yet. But it is one of her favorite things to grab.

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa for giving this cutie such a fun toy!

Yes!
Camden has reached a new milestone...
She can sit up by herself!
Okay, okay, it does only last for a few brief minutes, but we're on our way. Hooray for Camden!

Grandpa's Hat
Grandpa French stopped by last night to say hi. Camden instantly grabbed for his hat. So Grandpa obliged and let Camden try it on.
Can this girl wear a hat or what?

Ladybugs in Winter
As we are in the negative temperatures today (-4 with windchill of -24), Camden is dressed in one of her snuggliest, warmest sleepers. She's as snug as a bug!
Check out those feet!
And take a look at her backside...

First Feeding
We had decided to wait until Camden was close to 6 months before introducing food to her. She had been showing signs she was ready last week (trying to sit up with a bottle, reaching for things at the table, etc.). But then she got sick, so we had to wait. Boy was it worth it! She was definitely ready and took right away to the process.
She loved playing "choo choo train" with Daddy.
And didn't make too big of a mess...
We had to capture it on video as well. I love that her feet are constantly moving. Kevin didn't know that I was recording and hates that I caught him talking like I did, but I love it, so you get to see it! He advices that you push mute.
Overall, it was a great experience for everyone and Camden gives rice cereal two thumbs up!
Both Kevin and I were home today, so we each took a turn

Sickness
Camden has her first major cold. And it manifest itself in her eyes. Pus coming out constantly - UGH. Kevin wouldn't let me take or post any pictures (it was kinda gross). She's had it since Friday, hence no updates. Here's a glimpse of what our life has entailed the past few days.
Yes, she also had very bad diarrhea which led to extreme diaper rash, a runny nose that only soft tissues could handle to avoid further spreading of the virus, and eye drops in both eyes every six hours for seven days. She hasn't had her normal appetite and sleeps all the time (when she's not groaning & moaning). She's been one miserable baby!
So I thought I'd post a video of her on a "normal" evening. She tends to be more vocal then this, but gets camera shy for some reason. Enjoy!

At her doctor's appointment, we also learned that at 5 1/2 months, Camden is 14 lbs, 6oz and 26" long. She likes to hover around 50%, but she is getting long...she may get her mom's height!

Let It Snow
We've had a few flurries this week, but Camden seems to want it to do a little more.
I mean she really gets excited about the possibility of snow.
One day soon we'll get her outside to actually experience it. But for now she'll have to sit in her crib being our little adorable snow wisher.
This snow bunny has such a sweet face!

The Braund women have struck! The shoppers of the family have a new target. They recently bought Camden some fun new socks and the cutest tights ever!
You've got to get a closer look.
Too cute!
