We had a great visit to the Terre Haute Children's Museum over the weekend.
They rearranged a few items and added a few activites. It's such a perfect little place.

Tangrams
Camden's class is exploring math concepts in a bit deeper way. Mrs. Barr gave each child a bag of tangrams to play with and make various shapes (and eventually one big square). They loved this hands-on educational play.

Columbus Visit
Last Sunday, we ventured down to Columbus to visit Gramma Pat and Grampa Jim for Grampa's 93rd birthday. Aunt Carole and Uncle Ric also came down and we enjoyed dinner and ice cream at Zaharakos Ice Cream Parlor and Museum.
We had been there when Camden was little and she enjoyed showing Aunt Carole (who hadn't been there before) the old soda fountains, counter, and music players in the museum while we waited for our food.
Camden enjoyed her cheeseburger at a table next to ours that was just her size.
She also especially enjoyed her cherry milkshake for dessert.
While we finished up our sundaes and got a to go order to take back to Grampa, Camden and Daddy went back to the museum and looked at the old toys.
After dinner, we went back to Gramma's for some visiting and game playing. Gramma taught Camden how to play Yahtzee. Aunt Carole, Gramma and I spent hours playing that when we were little.
When Camden came running and screaming "Yahtzee!" and carrying her score card to each of us, there was no doubt that we have another game player on our hand!
Before we left, we made sure to get some family photos.

Winter Birthdays
Last weekend we celebrated the Winter birthdays of Grandpa, Tammy, Jeana, and Hali.
We had a fabulous prime rib dinner followed by chocolate cake. This is my new favorite cake. It was a simple chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines, of course) with a box of chocolate pudding mix added in. It was all topped with my favorite homemade white frosting and some chocolate shavings.
Hali's 4th birthday party was the next afternoon, but we weren't going to be able to make it. So we gave her present to her at this gathering.
I filled a clear tote with all kinds of art supplies (markers, paint, scissors, glue sticks, playdough) and activity books. She and Camden dug in and gave their approval.
GaGa had a few crafts too. The girls had so much fun that they decided to have a sleepover. Shirley, John and Jeana were also staying there so their house was full! Lots of laughter and love!

80's Dance - The Photo Booth
One highlight of the dance was the photo booth. This was booth a way to highlight things from the 80's but also to create lasting memories as the school closes down. The kids now have great photos from this event.
They had a table full of props. There were some great pictures. The company has a website that we can log into and see all the photo booth pictures from the night, not just ours.
There was often a short wait to have a turn in the booth, but I got a few good pics then.
Actual pictures from the booth:
