Harvest

When Kevin was a young adult, he lived and worked on a farm.  He'd work long hours at Raybestos, then do work with Al.  He loved it.  They still stay in touch and, in fact, Kevin hunts on Al's property.  Al is still harvesting some fields, so Kevin and Camden stopped by to get a ride on a combine.

Not only did she get to ride the combine, but took a ride with Al on the tractor as well.

She was so excited to climb up in the big machine and take a spin through the fields.

Imagination Station - Upstairs

After exploring all that she could downstairs, we headed upstairs for another roomful of hands-on activities.  This place is a little run down and not quite as "cool" as other museums, but Camden had a ball and didn't seem to notice.

Loved the "intense" chess play by these two.  They, obviously, didn't have a clue, but giggled and "tricked" each other.

Imagination Station - Downstairs

Last year we had a membership to the Imagination Station in Lafayette. Truth be told, we only went there once since the main reason we get it is for the cheap membership and the free access to hundreds of other museums across the county (including the Terre Haute Children's Museum). We hadn't renewed it this year and with cold weather upon us, I knew we would want it for weekend fun through the winter.

Since we were there, we spent several hours playing too.  Downstairs are all the big machines.  Camden enjoyed being a firefighter, jet pilot, laser pointer, and seeing how much she weighed on other planets.

She also loved the fact that one of her friends, Cale, from her old daycare was there for a birthday party.  They enjoyed chasing each other around and simply playing together.

The hands-on activity on Saturday was presented by the College of Pharmacy.  I really hadn't planned it, but three students in the program that I know were there showing the kids various things that pharmacists do.  By the time we made it over to the table, all the birthday kids had gone upstairs for lunch, cake, etc. so Camden had the undivided attention of the three students.

Cinderella

Camden's Preschool had a field trip to Beef and Boards Dinner Theater on Friday for a production of Cinderella.

I had never been to this theater and was very impressed with the set-up.  About 45 of us went from Kids Kingdom and another 400-500 were there from other schools.  We sat at tables of 4 and enjoyed rice krispie treats and apple juice before the production began.

Kevin had the day off and was able to join us.  Samaya sat at our table with us.  The silliness was prevalent!

After the show, we were able to get pictures and autographs from the evil stepmother and stepsisters, as well as Cinderella and Prince Charming.

It was a very well done production!

Afterward, we loaded up and headed to McDonald's for lunch.  Great day for all!

Wishin...

The Toys R Us Christmas "catalogue" arrived at GaGa's.  While waiting for trick or treating to begin, she plopped down in the chair and begin selecting her desired items.  The scene was so classic (and reminiscent for both Kevin and I of getting the Sears and Penney's catalogues as kids).

Chillin' At Home

She got her jar of shells out to play with on Sunday afternoon.  I loved how she decided to set them out.  We might have another organizer on our hands.

We also grabbed a few dollar store paint projects to do.  The photo doesn't do the elephant justice, but I really wanted to note how she is printing her name.  She is trying to master capital and small letters.  She did really well with her a, m, and n.  She does okay with the e (usually better than this effort), but overall, I am proud of her writing interest and skill!
