Camden and Her Momma

Didn't get a perfect shot of either of us, but it's always good to get a picture of the two of us every once in a while.

Many Faces of Camden

Trying to cool down at the Reunion and finishing up a last bite of dessert (yeah, sorry about the brownie bits in some shots).

 One of my favorites...

Notice the bruise and scratches on her forehead.  She thought she would try crossing the monkey bars at Turtle Park without my assistance.  She landed on her head...ouch!

This expression always floors me.  It's very common, but changes her look so much...not sure what she does with her eyes and eyebrows to get the look, but it's pure Camden.

Kevin was trying to get a picture of the two of us (more tomorrow) and this one was bad of me, but a beauty shot of Camden...only wish her smile was a little more full (I think she was still saying, "cheese").

Preslee!

Preslee is growing and growing.  She's getting lots of hair and plenty of teeth (4, but working on more).

Lake Holiday

After lunch, Camden got suited up and headed into the lake.  Neither Kevin or I wanted to get in, so we monitored from the beach.  Ever the daredevil, she pushed and pushed the limits of how deep she went in.

She could actually touch the entire way out to the far edge of the roped off area, but it put the water right at her face.  She kept creeping further and further out, despite what Kevin and I were saying, so her day in the lake was cut short.  She was very upset (oh well!) and promised to listen better next time.

French Reunion

Grandpa French's family reunion was held at Lake Holiday this year.  Camden loved being near the water and playing with her cousin Hali on the playground while waiting for lunch.

She was so excited to show off her bandaid and sore on her ankle.

She also held Hali's hand going down the slide so that Hali wouldn't be scared.

Pool Party

Camden had a ball on Saturday afternoon in Uncle Ric and Aunt Carole's pool.

The Baby Shower House

Since my cousin's baby shower a few weeks ago, Camden has wanted to return to the site of the party, she calls it "the baby shower house."  I was doing site visits in Indy on Thursday and scheduled them so I could drop Camden off first thing in the morning and pick her up at the end of the day.  She got another full day of playing with her 4 cousins (and 2 of their friends who also came over).  A day with 6 girls, in a house full of girl toys!  What a dream.

Princess gowns and high heel shoes...music to dance to while all decked out.

My favorite part of the set up in the house is a room in the basement that has been converted to a small town.  Mindy made it from plywood and said it was actually quite simple, it sure is impressive and my little girl could play for hours (well, and did).

Mindy confirmed that Camden played and played and played. In addition to these activities, they spent some time at the community pool.  You think she would be worn out, but Camden was still ready to go go go.

She was a stinker when I tried to get a picture of the whole family, but I really hope we get to spend more time with them.  This is an amazing, giving family and these girls are good role models for our munchkin.  We plan to try to schedule a few more of these day visits before school starts in the fall.

Father's Day Gift

Camden and I got our favorite picture of Kevin and his bear blown up to an 8X10 then found a great mat and wonderful frame.

Finished product is fantastic, if I don't say so myself.  Now we just have to wait for the bear skin rug to be completed!

Girls Afternoon Out

Kevin and I had several meetings on Monday, so I took a personal day.  We were done by 2:30, so I picked Camden up from daycare and she and I went to Turkey Run to swim (Kevin had to sleep).  She was slightly excited!

There was a nice kiddie pool with a very cold rain cloud...but it was so hot outside, it felt so good!

We went to the big pool where she spent the next 1 1/2 dunking her head under the water.  Her eyes were completely bloodshot because she kept her eyes open the whole time.

She made friends with a few boys who had squirt guns.  There was quite a battle!

We stayed about 2 1/2 hours in all...what a fun, fun time we had!

Father's Day Brunch

GaGa, Grandpa, and Papaw came to church with us and afterward, we took the grandpa's (and Kevin) out to brunch.  We had yummy food (and horrible service) at A Country A'fair.  Got a great picture of Camden (making funny faces) and GaGa, but the camera battery went dead when we stepped outside to get pictures with all the men.

Camden's Dedication

We dedicated Camden on Sunday at our church.  Pretty neat Father's Day opportunity to commit to bringing Camden up in the Lord.

Football Star

Camden has very good foot-eye and hand-eye coordination.  Lately she has been showing off her running and kicking skills with a football and a soccer ball.  She's got pretty good control and aim.  Kevin says he will probably have to break out his coaches whistle in the next few years to coach her soccer team.  What fun!

Sushi or Rice?

Since we didn't indulge in any of the fattening (and yummy) fried foods at the Festival, we decided to get some sushi at the Chinese restaurant in downtown around the corner from the Strawberries.  Camden wanted her usual rice, but also some of our rolls.  Lately she's been requesting to try a bite everytime we get sushi.  I think she is rubbing it in Daddy's face that she is better with the chopsticks than he is!

Strawberry Festival

We spent a gorgeous Saturday evening at the Strawberry Festival.  The best part of the event is the kid's area.  They have good games and bounce houses.

It wasn't until I looked through the pictures after the event that I realized she actually was cheered on by the festival Queen!

At the top of the list is the pony rides.

The fresh strawberries and homemade ice cream are pretty great too!
