Mommy's Outfit

When we were in Columbus, my mom got out a bag that contained a few items of clothing that were mine when I was a baby. One outfit was given to my mom at my baby shower. It fit Camden perfectly.

I can't get enough of her in this hand-made treasure.

Christmas in Columbus

Camden and I went to Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim's to celebrate Christmas on Saturday. Grammy and Aunt Linda were there as well. It was a fun time. Camden finally got some presents of her own ('cause Grandma likes to spoil her!).

She got a block toy, ornaments for our Christmas tree, and a few new books.

She also got a new baby doll that always makes her smile. I'm not sure if it's the bald head, blue eyes, or the pacifier, but this "Camden twin" is a favorite.

Camden is one content (and deeply loved) little girl!

5 Months

It is hard to believe that 5 months have passed since Camden was born. She's gained lots of skills and seems to be picking up new ones every day. She is grabbing everything. She loves to scratch at things and grasp them in her hands. Her favorite toy this week is her links.

She also is getting much better at raising herself up on her hands. She hates to be on her tummy (and I hate listening to her cry) so she gets less than she probably should. But she is getting stronger.

She loves being on the floor - especially if one of us will join her. She'll turn herself around and get over on one side, but she can't quite roll over yet. I'm convinced it will be any day now.

And she adores her Daddy.

Our Christmas

We open presents on Christmas Eve morning, so we've already gotten all our great new stuff!

After a big Christmas breakfast and a dance with Daddy, we got down to business.

We decided not to give anything to Camden this year since we just bought her a big item and she wouldn't know the difference anyway (are we mean or what?!?). She did help us open our gifts though. At first she seemed to be looking at me to make sure it was okay.

But then she helped her dad. I thought she might be one of those gift openers.

But then she got to workin' hard on them.

And had so much fun she also wanted to assist her mom.

It was a good Christmas (eve) morning!

I may be biased...

...but Camden is beautiful!

And a little goofy!

I love music!

One of the features of Camden's activity jumper is a musical keyboard that lights up as the songs play. She is fascinated by it.

Do you think that's bad for her eyes?

Christmas Stockings

We don't have a fireplace, so this year our stockings got hung by the window with care...

Even Camden's ready for a visit from St. Nick!

Pre-Christmas Wonder

Kevin and Austin were finally able to get out and get the Christmas tree, so we put up a few decorations on Wednesday. Camden was wide-eyed at all the colorful new things in the living room.

Even the deer head gets in the holiday spirit.

Next year we'll have to really watch those little hands trying to reach things!

But this year, we're just marveling at our beautiful blue-eyed redhead (I'm convinced those Borders genes have shown up again!)

New Toys

Camden loves to play. She also loves to sit up. We decided it was time to break down and buy her an activity center that she can sit in. It costs some moolah, especially since she's in it for such a short time, but we knew she would enjoy it.
She can't quite reach the floor with both feet, but wants to bounce. So she's adapted by leaning one direction, standing on that foot and letting the other one float in the air. Quite the problem solver!

Visit with Santa

Grandma French had a holiday Christmas party for her work and invited Camden to come. Camden got to sit on the laps of Santa and Mrs. Claus. She won't look at the camera and was all scrunched up, but she didn't scream!

Camden's First Sleep Over

Kevin had a company Christmas party that included a night at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Indianapolis, dinner at Mo's Steakhouse, and the Lion King for the two of us. Such a treat! It was going to be the first night I was away from Camden (another one of those milestones) and so I turned to my dear cousin, Melinda and her husband Roger. She lives in Indy so would be near and has four precious daughters of her own, so it was pretty easy to trust Camden would be alright.

Their oldest, Olivia, was actually the official babysitter, but she had help from her sisters. Emme is next in line and with two younger sisters, both are pros at taking care of a baby.

But even the two youngest, Sophie and Claire, had a great time holding and kissing and loving on Camden.

We look forward to many years of playing with these cousins!

Sittin' in My High Chair

Camden has moved from sitting in her bouncy seat at the dinner table to being in her high chair. Despite how these "I just woke up and really want a bottle but you're making me take a picture in my high chair instead" pictures look, she loves it! In fact she likes to spend other time in it because she can sit up and play with her toys. It won't be too long before she's sitting in her chair to eat "real" food. She's getting to be such a big girl...

Happy Birthday Daddy

Camden wished her Daddy a happy 39th birthday on December 9th by giving him a cute picture of her in her camos. He loved it (although Mommy stole it and took to her office to sit on her desk - tee hee)!

Give Me Kisses!

Don't these cheeks just scream to be kissed?

And don't get me started on those long eyelashes!

But what about that peach fuzz that is finally sprouting on her head? Is it blonde? Red? Or will it be brown?

And then when you put it all together...what a beauty!
