Easter Egg Hunt #4

The first thing Camden did when she woke up on Sunday was run to the window to see if the Easter Bunny had come.  In all our activity, we had not bought anything!  But on Saturday night we called an Easter Bunny and asked if he could make sure to hide some eggs while we were gone to Illinois.

Camden couldn't get out of the car fast enough when she saw our yard.  Her genuine expressions are always so priceless.

The dinosaur eggs were adorable.

She saw some kids having an egg hunt while we were driving to Illinois.  At one point during lunch she turned to me and said that the Easter Bunny must have still been on his way and he was probably to Indiana by now.

Illinois Easter 2016

We love our semi-annual trip to see Great Grandma and the rest of the Beasley family.

Kevin's Grandma/Camden's Great Grandma is one special lady.

Such a beauty too.

After lunch, we always have to spend a little time on the run-down playground.  But who can blame her for wanting to move a bit after a 3 hour drive...and before we do another 3 hour drive.

The trees were budding and blooming.  We couldn't stand near the one in bloom because the bees were having a hayday.

GaGa and Grandpa came out side to watch Camden play for a bit.  Got a few nice pictures of some of our favorite people.

Easter Egg Hunt #3

The Lake Waveland hunt is one of our favorites every year.  We love that the Easter Bunny arrives via the town firetruck.

We also enjoy that a lot of our friends are there too.

This year had the biggest turnout ever.  But the grounds are so large that we spread out and still get good hunting.

This side of the shelter house is 5-9 year olds and the other side is under 5.  They moved the 10+ to another field on the other side of the parking lot.

Go!

After the hunt and after picking out a book, Camden got her picture with the Easter Bunny.  What a great setting!

Rustic Owl Raffle Winner

The little shop in Waveland where I won $20 in a raffle at Christmas, had another raffle this past week to celebrate their 3rd anniversary.  Camden and I had shopped there one day during their anniversary week so we got to enter our names for door prizes.  I got an email on Monday that Camden won the children's raffle.  We decided to keep it a secret and let her find out when we went to the shop.  Unfortunately, one of the hazards of a small town shop is their hours are hit or miss and can change at any moment.  We tried 3 times to go and each time they were closed during "regular" hours.  Finally on Saturday we stopped in.

Camden's enthusiasm is so contagious.  Stacy, the owner, looks so happy to be able to pass this on to Camden.  Camden has become a pretty regular shopper, so Stacy already "gets" that Camden would love this!

Extra pictures we took when we got home to show the cute basket and yummy chocolate "Big Ears".

Easter Egg Hunt #2

Ladoga (a little town about 15 minutes from us) had postponed their Saturday Easter Egg Hunt to Wednesday night.  I didn't think we were going to make it in time, but we drove a little faster than we should and arrived with about 2 minutes to spare.  TONS and TONS of eggs, filled with GOOD candy, and not overly crowded.

Camden had some weird idea of how to go about this and ran past lots of eggs and randomly picked them up.  She had a whole section basically to herself and could have cleaned up.  I wanted to holler at her (guess who the most competitive in our family is?).  Then I realized she was having fun and I let her do her thing.

They had a cute Easter Bunny who was great in pictures and each kid also got a book.

We will keep our eye open for this one next year!  It was fun!

New Market Carnival

The school carnival was this weekend.  I have a huge part in pulling it off along with 3-4 other PTO members.  Kevin worked a shift for me selling the wristband admissions, but pretty much took care of Camden while she enjoyed the night.  I run the kitchen most of the night.

In addition to admission, the biggest fundraising component of the event is a raffle for various donated prizes and a basket auction.  The 4 PTO members did the majority of the work to secure items for this area.  There was some really great prizes - we worked hard to make sure the items had some good value ($10+) that brought in significant money for the school.  Unfortunately, none of our family who bought raffle tickets won anything this year!
