Sock Hop

The New Market PTO hosted a sock hop last Friday.  I was on the committee responsible.  There were two separate dances - one after school for the K-3rd grades and one in the evening for 4th-6th grades.  Phew...I'm tired!

But what a wonderful time.  There was a DJ, a photo booth, glow necklaces, and lots of snacks.  McDonald's donated Go-gurts, apples, and cuties for the younger kids after school snack and our local movie theater donated popcorn for both dances.  Everyone had free snack options, plus we sold candy and pizza (older kids only).

Camden spent a lot of time with Logan (surprise!) and dancing around a pole.

But also buying (and losing) glow items.

At the end of the night, the four of us ladies who ran the night (plus our fabulous principal Mrs. Larson) grabbed a few turns in the photo booth.  Love!

Four Wheeler Sledding

After clearing the drive, Camden asked if Kevin would get the four-wheeler out.  Well...yea!

Between the snow plow and Kevin's work, there were little mounds of snow on each corner of the driveway.  He would lead her over these and she would catch a brief amount of "air".  She was squealing with delight.

I even heard he scream several times, "This is the most awesome Saturday ever, Dad!"

They only wiped out about 3 or 4 times, but she even loved it and eagerly hopped back on the sled for more.

By the end, she was ready for some different action and tries backwards and lying down.  She has just a little bit of daredevil in her!

Love smiles that are so genuine because she is so happy!

Snow Helper

We got about 7 inches of snow on Friday night.  Kevin went out to clear the sidewalk and driveway and Camden got her gear on and went to help.

Of course, that means playing in the piled up snow.

She laid down for a picture....

....and Kevin threw a shovel full of the cold stuff on her.  Brrrrrr!!!!

She wasn't entirely thrilled with the experience, but it didn't ruin her fun.  A quick wipe with a towel and she was back at it!

Gramma's V-day Gift

Camden gets better mail than us!  Gramma Pat is always sending a wonderful card for a holiday.  Camden had already gotten a valentine from Gramma (as well as from Olivia!) so we were surprised to find a package in our box.

She could hardly wait to open it!

An adorable pink frog was an immediate hit, along with a new Dr. Seuss book and pretty pink sweater and shirt.  What a sweet, sweet surprise!

Grandpa's 80th Birthday

Despite a snow storm that forced some family to stay home, there was a great turnout for Raymond's birthday celebration.  GaGa made wonderful prime rib, mashed potatoes, and her famous salad bar.

Emily, Tara, and Aunt Tammy

Grandpa, DeeDee and Grandpa's brother Donnie

 Amanda, Dalton, and their kids

DeeDee and Preslee have a conversation

After dinner, we celebrated with cake and ice cream, coconut cream pie, fruit salad, and cinnamon rolls.

Camden helped get the "80" battery turned on so it lit up and blinked multiple colors.

I love how Grandpa is looking at Camden, only wish her eyes were open and this would be perfect!

The young ones gathered to help Grandpa blow out the candles, but Hali was quick on the draw and had them blown out before the others could get a puff in.

Party Crashers

Kevin is changing shifts this week and got to have a full Saturday off.  We decided to see Gramma Pat.  Aunt Carole texted us that morning and asked if she and Uncle Ric could crash the party.  Of course!

We met in Greenwood.  After a quick bit of shopping, we headed to a bowling alley for some competition.

Camden showed off her mad skills!

She used all kinds of body language to encourage the ball...but mostly threw her ball then ran back to the edge to see what happened.  The results were usually met with jumping celebrations or hands raised and foot stomps in (mostly fake) frustrations.

Daddy had the high score with me just a point behind.  Aunt Carole and Uncle Ric tied and were followed by Camden then Gramma who were only points apart.

Afterward we headed to Bonefish Grill for a yummy dinner together.  Super fun day!
