Fort Pulaski, Part II

At each corner, you could climb up stairs to walk around the top of the fort.

There were some incredible views in all directions...hard to believe the fort was assaulted by canons over a mile away (some from the beach at our condo).

There was a reenactor who talked about life as a civil war soldier and showed us the clothes and gear that the men would have worn.

Camden is holding a utensil set that was passed around.

He then demonstrated a rifle.  Four very loud booms!

We walked around the outside of the fort to see the damage from the battle.  Amazingly, these holes are from cannon shots, not deterioration.
