Chicks

The cool activities this week at school include chicks.  And eggs. 

 

The science activity is create a "bouncing egg."  Apparantly it is a regular egg that is sitting in some concoction of vinegar and other stuff.  It's been it the liquid for 3 days.  At the end of this time, it will bounce.  Camden has been counting down each morning reminding me the egg will be done on Friday.  Can't wait to get the report!

 

They also have a few new classroom pets.  Two cute, brown, fluffy chicks are carefully guarded over by the kids.

They were in a big cardboard box for the first few days, but chewed (or pecked) a hole into it, so they have new plastic digs.  The growth of their tailfeathers has been Camden's update each evening.  She even reports that she would like to have a few chicks for pets at home (NO!).
