Spontaneous Trip: Dayton

We woke up on New Year's Eve and decided to head on a small overnight trip somewhere close by.  It was still morning and we thought we could make it to Dayton and the Air Force Museum for a few hours before it closed at 5pm.  Getting ready and driving there with multiple stops ended up leaving us just over an hour to explore.

We hit the highlights and we plan to go back again to spend more time and see things we never got to.  The temporary exhibit was a tribute to war dogs.

The vast number of planes was breathtaking.  Kevin was in his element, naming all the different types and being fascinated by everything.

Camden inside some of the cargo bays.

She also climbed in a cockpit and enjoyed a few VR activities.

My favorite area was the Presidential planes.  There were several retired Air Force One planes, including JFK's that carried his body home from Dallas.

We checked into our hotel then headed out to dinner.  We landed at a local Chinese/Japanese place called CJ Chan.  It was highly recommended on several sites and we all agree.  Camden thought the sushi was the best and Kevin and I got some standard dishes with a slight twist:  General Tso's Shrimp and CJ Mei Fun (super spicy and addictive!)
