Grandparents Day

Friday was Grandparents Day at New Market Elementary.  Gramma Pat got to experience her first taste of the madness at a large elementary school.   The PTO and the school staff made some changes this year to focus on letting the grandparents actually spend time with their grandkids!

Gramma Pat made her way through the masses to Camden's room.  Each kid had written a checklist of items to complete.  They dutifully worked their way through each item.

After they completed their classroom checklist, Camden got to give Gramma Pat a tour of the building and take her to the book fair.  Gramma Pat blew the budget we set (but that's why the PTO does the book fair on this day...grandparents don't say no very often!).

The kids could also leave with their grandparents when they were done, so Camden got out of school about 1:45...more than an hour early.  That makes the day extra extra special!

I went to her classroom after the book fair (I was working it) to pick up my cookie container and Mr. Chadd said, "I'm not sure who was with Camden, but she was dragging her all over the place at a record pace.  I had to tell her to slow down or she was going to wear out her guest."  Gramma reported it was a great time, but Camden was definitely moving things along!
