When we arrived she could hardly contain herself. When she saw "the blob" she squealed and jumped and generally was everything you expect from a happy Camden. The blob is the stripped "pillow" in the lake. Someone sits on the end furthest into the lake and another person jumps from the platform onto the blob. This causes the first person to shoot into the air and into the lake. I wonder if she will be as brave as she thinks she will be when it comes time...
She was even happy for the lice check.
The theme of camp this year is "Full Throttle" and Chip Ganassi Racing loaned an Indy Car to the camp for the summer.
After check-in we were able to drive her down to her cabin and meet her counselor and her counselor-in-training (CIT).
She chose the top bunk, but I'm secretly hoping she switches for a bottom bunk when she realizes how hard it is to climb up and down...and how slippery her sleeping bag is. Kevin and I both kicked ourselves for not also bringing a sheet for the bed. It makes it always so much easier.
She is in Birch cabin. There is a bottom cabin to this structure and two more across the street. This is the elementary girls area. During our unpack, we saw 3 other girls from our church who will be in her cabin. We teach all of them in Sunday School so we were thrilled to know they were in Camden's group.
We know she is going to have a wonderful week and learn and grow so much.
