July 4th Festivities

We had friends from church over on the 4th for a Shrimp Boil. We gave Kevin a big turkey fryer/boil pot for Father's Day and this was the inaugural launch. It was a steamer of a day, but everyone enjoyed their first boil experience.

After dinner, we broke out the yard games and had rousing matches of croquet, ladder ball, and corn hole.

Camden even tried her hand at the last two events.

The kiddos had fun with Camden's toys...

...but with the heat, their favorite activity was definitely when we turned the sprinkler on.

When it got close to dusk, we headed over to Turkey Run Golf Course to watch the fireworks over Lake Waveland. Camden loved sitting with the other big girls.

And she especially loved the big fireworks. They were on the far side of the lake this year, so they weren't too loud for her sensitive ears, but we still got a good show.

What a great day with good friends!
