Fall Girl's Trip, Day 3

We swam one last time before we checked out of the hotel.  We headed back downtown and stopped at another Louisville landmark for doughnuts (which we didn't eat until the next morning).  These were huge and unique flavors (I had pumpkin cheesecake filled).

The people in front of us bought the last apple fritter.  Talk about huge!  It was also bourbon glazed (everything in Louisville has a bourbon twist).  I was going to get it for Kevin, but they took it as a birthday "cake".  I asked for a photo, though, to let him know what he would have had.

We then spent the afternoon at the Kentucky Science Center.  Camden is a little old for some of the exhibits, but she still had a great time with all the hands-on stuff.

One room was dedicated to kids 10 and older where they could be "makers."  They had several stations set up where the kids could design and build things.

One of her favorite sections was the TV newscast room where she could take part in a broadcast.

As we were leaving there was a demonstration going on about dry ice.  Really fun and educational.

We had a few hours to kill before our evening activity, so we got a late lunch and spent some time browsing in Barnes & Noble.  Then it was time to head to Kentucky Kingdom for Halloscream.

We were there as the gates opened and were greeted by all kinds of characters.

All the rides were dark, lit up, and had been changed to Halloween themed names.

I'm still in awe of the rides she will go on.

We stopped for a snack before heading out for more fun.

Although she loves the thrill rides, she still always wants to ride a carousel.  She's on a chicken!

We had to walk through the deserted water park to get to the Halloscream section.

Neither of us really like scary things, but since it was included in our season pass, she decided she would try one of the scary haunted house.  It was a clown's funeral.

The entrance was the worst part and she held her hands over her ears the entire time, but she said it was fine.  But, no, she didn't want to do the other "Zombie" one!

Her last ride was the Cyclos (she went twice).  It was fun doing all the rides in the dark.

We look forward to next year.  I'm sure we will do a few times with our pass!

We left about 9:30pm and made the long drive home.  We were glad to see home and sleep in our beds, but it was such a sweet time together.
