Ice Cream for Dinner

I have a wonderful group of girlfriends who try to get together periodically to catch up.  We all have kids, so when school is out we try to do something that to involve them (and occasionally our husbands).  One of them has done an "ice cream for dinner" night with her kids for the past 5-6 years.  Two years ago, we all invited ourselves to crash it and fell in love with the concept.  So, now, the Sunday before school starts we are getting together for this new tradition.

We met at Waveland Park so the kids would have someplace to play and no one needed to clean their house!

It was a pretty simple spread, but some doozy sundaes were made!

At one point I looked over and found Camden atop the slide with her ice cream. I loved the shot.  Only a few minutes later and the playset was crawling with kids.

The kids also found some "Waveland Rocks" that had been hidden throughout the park at the last Farmer's Market.  Addi and Adri found the hornet!
