Vacation 2017, Day 3 & 4

After a big day at Holiday World, we decided to have a low-key day in the French Lick area.  We saw lots of advertisements for a nearby (40 minutes) Amish community with an Amish buffet dinner.  We decided to head that direction for lunch and some activity.  Boy, what a disappointment.  There were 2 stores (that had nothing to do with Amish) and a flea market going on.  Then the food was just average.  Definitely the one thing we would not do again or ever recommend.

Trying to salvage something out of the drive we took a detour off the path on the way back to the hotel to see a nearby dam.   It was actually pretty cool and our little outdoor girl loved being by the water.  She and Kevin also got out at the dam and walked a bit across the structure.  They could see fish trying to swim up the dam and other interesting features.

A storm was rolling in so we headed back to French Lick.  We went back to the laser tag place and had another round of play.  Another family was there so there was a group of 8 this time.  Once again, we had a blast...and once again, this mama came out on top!  We also play 9 holes of indoor glow golf, then headed back to the hotel for swimming and a relaxing night.

The next morning we checked out and headed home.  We decided we wanted to do something else and headed toward Indy.  We would be going near Nashville and remembered the Farm House & Tea Room we ate at when we stayed at Brown County State Park last year.  Again, we took a small detour off the direct route and stopped at this little gem.  Such a good lunch!

Camden had roasted red pepper soup and mac & cheese.  I had a club sandwich and potato salad. Kevin had a shrimp salad.  All of that sounds pretty ordinary, but they take everything up a step and it is yummy!  We will make this a regular stop when we are in this area of the state.

We were making our way to Whiteland for an afternoon at Rascals Fun Zone.  What a place!  You could pay per activity or buy a 1, 2, or 3 hour unlimited play.  It was not crowded so they worker told us we would probably get 8-10 activities done in one hour.  That was plenty!  There were 2 outdoor go-kart tracks (Camden was too small to drive), 2 miniature golf courses, and bumper boats.

At some point, they realized they could come to the edge and squirt me!

Entrance to mini-golf.

Inside were mini go-karts for Camden, a large indoor go-kart track (they rode together), and bumper/spinning cars.

I loved the bumper/spin cars.

There was also bowling (extra fee) and a ton of games.  We had a coupon for a good deal on the tokens and played for a long time and earned lots of tickets for Camden to redeem for prizes.

Looks like Vacation 2017 was our adrenaline junkie tour.  And this was only Wednesday...we had the rest of the week to hang out together.  LOVE!
