Advent: Day 7 - Daddy's Birthday Cake

Kevin's birthday is Thursday, but he wanted to take his birthday cake to work tonight for the guys on this shift with him. Since it had to be done anyway...it was the perfect "advent" activity. Camden took part in every step of the heavily requested Heath Bar cake (the guys tell Kevin he is welcome to bring it ANY time and it's one of the easiest and yummiest cakes to make).  Here we go...

Start with the mix...

 Thankfully no shells in the batter!

Add the oil...

 Turn the mixer on and watch it blend...

 Scrape...

 Lick...and lick some more...

Once the cake is baked, we have to poke holes in it...

 Then pour on the goo (sweetened condensed milk and caramel)...

 Once it cools completely, cover up the goo with Cool Whip...

 Of course, there is more to lick while we break up the Heath Bars...

 Sprinkle the pieces on top...

Give Daddy a kiss to wish him "Happy Birthday!"
