New Market Christmas Program

The Second-Fourth Graders put on the Christmas program.  Camden looked adorable in her new dress.  It's probably one of my favorite dressy outfits on her in a while.  Too bad she was so excited that she could not stand, look at the camera, and smile at the same time.

She is letting her hair grow and has discovered she like head bands.  Again, the jumping (and coat hood) didn't help, but she looks good with it pulled back.

The show had 9 really cute songs in it.  She is on the lower risers on the right, second row.

Fixing her hair next to one of the music teachers...

I can't seem to copy a video of another song from one of the teachers, but it can be seen by clicking this link to Facebook.

Camden's class had many of the featured dancers.

After the program we went to town for ice cream.  It's a tradition (although we went to DQ instead of Culver's this time).

Ornament Craft

Gramma Pat bought some supplies to do ornament crafts with Camden.  They spent time on Saturday morning creating masterpieces.

They made three plastic shapes filled with red and green crinkle-cut paper strips.

Camden is independent but needed Gramma to hold the ornament while she put the hanger top on it.

She wrote a message and the year on each with a Sharpie.  Her messages were: "Christmas Joy 2016," "Happy Holidays and Video Games 2016," and "Keep Calm and Enjoy Christmas 2016."  She is a nut!

They tied a ribbon to each and, since we don't have a tree yet, we are hanging them on a few nails around the apartment.

Sock Hop

Friday night was Camden's Sock Hop.  She is still in the younger group so it was right after school.  There were about 150 + Kindergarten through 3rd graders who stayed for this rowdy event.

We have a great DJ (parent of a 1st grader) and a few of us PTO people organize the event.  Plenty of parents chaperone and help sell concessions or pass out the free snacks we have in the cafeteria.

Camden had fun running around with different friends and even did some dancing.  Especially during the dance contest.  She is dressed appropriately in her wild bell bottoms because she is a hippie dancer.

I turned the video on just in time for her to switch to twirling.

The older kids (4-6 graders) come in the evening from 6-8pm and they have a more traditional dance.  Lots of strobe lights and good music.  Some of these kids can really dance and the dance-off was a blast.

Gingerbread Man

Aunt Carole and I traveled to our Aunt Donna's funeral service mid-week in Cincinnati.  Gramma Pat stayed with Camden.  On our way back we stopped in Shelbyville at a little bakery.  I picked up a big gingerbread man as a treat for Camden.

It was a nice subtle gingerbread flavor and just the right amount of crunch.  She loved him...

At least enough to bite his head off!

Christmastime in Town

Downtown is decorated for the holidays so beautifully.  Camden and I enjoyed some girl time on Monday night and ate at Little Mexico (or "Mayheco" as she now calls it).  Afterward we caught some Pokemon around the area.  Our first stop was the little plaza across the street from the restaurant.  I like the new light display they added to the fountain.

Legos

These are her go-to when she is banned from electronics.  Her other is to pester us to no end with constant movement (jumping, climbing, swirling, dancing) and chatter.

I do so love our extreme extroverted girl!

Mornings

Just aren't her thing (these pictures are from some random day a few weeks ago).

But she is up, dressed and heading out the door for school.  Can't wait until she is a teenager!
