Painting With A Twist Camp

Camden attended a 4 day art camp in Lafayette.  Camden stayed with Gramma Pat who took care of getting her to and from each morning.  We did have to miss the Monday because of Grandma Beasley's funeral, but she was able to make up the missed painting by completing it at the end of the other three days.

We chose this week because the theme was unicorns and dragons.  She did a great job for her first time attempting this kind of art.  Because they were having an art show after the final class, I stayed the night on Wednesday and took her on the last day.  I stuck around for a few minutes and snapped some pictures of the artist at work.

She was doing a unicorn and the instructor directed them to paint the white face of the unicorn first.

Then she needed to outline the unicorn in black with a small brush.  The original painting did not have the hair strands outlined, but Camden elected to do that.  That is the beauty of these classes; each person can add their own artistic touch.

When we picked her up, she was done with her painting and was in the back room playing games in the "glow room" with other artists.

We had a small break before returning for the art show.

Her four masterpieces.

She stayed with Gramma for another night.  They came back to Painting with a Twist in the afternoon during "open paint" and did a little touch up on two of her paintings.  She darkened the black background on the unicorn with purple hair and touched up a few spots on the front-facing unicorn with blue background.  She will be entering the latter one as her 4-H project in fine arts.
