Spring Street Freak Show

The Rotary Jail usually does a haunted house as a fund-raiser.  For various reasons they couldn't this year so instead decided to do a big block party/"freak show."  Camden heard about it on her school field trip and has been begging to go ever since.

I drove by it earlier in the day and it looked pretty lame, but Camden really wanted to go.  Turns out it was lame...and she loved it!  It was also FREEZING which made the crowd very sparse.

I bought her a wristband that allowed her to do all the inflatables, the freak show tent, and get an all-you-can-eat buffet meal.  It actually was a great deal.  I didn't want any of that, so I simply bought a band to get in the freak show, so that I could see it with her.

The Hungry Hippo game cracked me up.  They are trying to dive into the center pit to get as many balls into their space as possible.

I love when she gets stuck on her back and can't move.  Hilarious!

The freak show as really small and, I guess, cute.  There were about 6 "freaks" - cat girl, dog boy, and the bearded lady were the best.

This character was one of the "hosts" of the show.  Despite how creepy she was, she was also very friendly!

Camden also liked one of the street performers.  He juggled things on fire, swallowed swords, and laid on a bed of nails.  She was impressed!

It was a good concept and should get better the more they do it.  It was also a good bargain and made her evening.
