Dinner Out

We invited GaGa and Grandpa over to have some ribs this week.  My preferred way to prepare them is to dry rub and bake them for a few hours the night before, then grill and sauce them for about 10-15 minutes the day of.  We bought a 3-pack from Costco (thought there were only 2, but happy for lots of leftovers).  When they started cooking, it smelled like fish.  Gross!  I let them finish cooking and when I took them out, many of the bones had cracked and leaked.  Gross!

I googled and couldn't find much about that smell during cooking.  Most information was about smell when raw, which these seemed fine.  I did see one mention that an odor during cooking could indicate that it's meat from an old boar.  Gross!  Kevin and I each took a bite the next morning and it was okay, but maybe had a slight aftertaste.  Gross!  I was not taking any chances.  Out to eat for us.  We headed to Turkey Run Inn since we hadn't been in a while.  It was a nice time together, but I still want some good ribs!

I called Costco and they said to bring the meat back for refund...yes, even cooked.
