Goodbyes

As Grammy is in her last days, it has been wonderful to have the opportunity to be with her and tell her how much we love her.  This weekend I got to spend significant time with her.  Most of the rest of the family also came at various times and got to have one more visit with our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great-great grandmother.

It is only a matter of time, but Grammy is still strong and holding her own.  She keeps surprising us!  She lost her sight years ago, but just in the past months she has started to slow mentally.  This weekend her short-term memory is all but gone.

Kevin, Camden and I made a trip to Lafayette so they could each hug her.  They stayed only about 10 minutes and I stayed to feed her dinner.  I feel so honored to be able to care for her in that small way. 

She is a beautiful woman.
