Boiler Kids Camp

Camden has been having a great summer hanging with her Daddy (all day Monday & Tuesday, mornings the rest of the week) and GaGa (afternoons W-F).  They golf almost every other day or play in the yard, go to a park, read books, or simply relax around the house.  I did want her to have a little group/structured programming so that she didn't completely get out of practice before Kindergarten starts in August.

I heard about a day camp on campus called Boiler Kids Camp (BKC).  It runs for 6 weeks, but you can go to as many or as few as you want.  We signed her up for two weeks this month and will see if she would like to do another in July.

It's held at the Co-Rec on campus and starts at 8:30 each morning.  Drop-offs are between 7:45-8:15, so it's perfect for me to get her there.  Actually it's a bit early for both of us (I usually start work at 9am), so mornings have been a bit fun waking a very sleepy little girl!  She has to be picked up between 4-4:30pm which, again, works with my schedule.

The first day she got a red backpack (the K-1 group color) and a new water bottle.

She headed right in with one of the counselors to drop her stuff off before some free play time while everyone arrived.

I was really proud of her for heading into the crazy, loud gym to find something to play.  At her old daycare she HATED going into the noisy gym.  This day, however, she wandered out into the middle of everything and kinda walked around until one of the counselors pulled her into a group of girls playing with a hula hoop.

She gave a mixed review to her first day...not because she didn't like it...but because she was exhausted and because she loves her routine with Daddy/GaGa.  She talked about how fun everything was and went back the second day looking forward to what she would do.
