Vacation Bible School

The church where Camden goes to daycare had their VBS this week.  It's held each morning, so the 4 year-olds and older participate with others from the church who just come for VBS.  Camden really loved this week.  She came home talking about various characters from skits and singing new songs.  The closing program was held Friday morning and parents were invited to come and stay for a pizza lunch.  Since Kevin is working second shift this week (which, in general I detest), it worked out perfectly for us both to attend.

It had some sort of hip-hop theme...which basically meant that all the songs were a little urbanized.

When all the kids first came to the sanctuary, they headed up to the stage and danced wildly to two songs.  It as rather chaotic (but fun) and we were a little concerned about the rest of the program.  But things didn't "officially" start until after this warm up entertainment.

The kids then sat back in their sections, a recap of some of the week happened, and a few more songs were sung (from their seats).

Camden really enjoys the singing and motions.  I love that some of the old standards (B-I-B-L-E and Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho) were mixed in with some more recent kids tunes (even ones we sang when I worked at UrbanPromise).
