Spring Break 2019: Friday Night Out

We took Friday afternoon and headed to Indy.  We stopped at one of our favorite movie theaters to see Dumbo and let Camden experience the reclining theater seats.

We selected sushi for dinner and took a chance on a nearby all-you-can-eat place.  It actually was quit good and we would go again.

Spring Break 2019: Dentist!

Camden also had a dentist appointment in Avon on Wednesday afternoon.  Her original dentist has retired, so she had his daughter today!  We missed last 6-month appointment, so it had been a while and her teeth desperately needed cleaned.  Love the way they have remodeled the office.  They had several colorful animal prints that I loved.

She had no cavities and had several tooth eruptions...and in fact we have lost two since the appointment.  Those adult teeth are a comin' in.

And since we were so close, we had just enough time for lunch together at Portilla's before Daddy had to go to work.

Spring Break 2019: Dave & Busters

Wednesday morning found us all in Indy as a combination Spring Break and 6-week A/B honor roll reward.

Since Kevin is working 2nd shift, he was able to go with us...and enjoyed games and VR.

Spring Break 2019: Fair Oaks Farm

Tuesday Morning we picked up Braxton and Macie for a trip up to Fair Oaks Farms.  We had through March to use our passes, so this was our last visit for a bit.  We did the pig tour first thing.

We were dropped off at the Cow Adventure.  Wow!  They had totally redone the activities in this area.  So much better!

Lots of tech-centric learning games, but still lots of active learning/playing too.

The Virtual Reality tour of the farm was super cool.

Can't miss the 4-D movie!

The off on the cow bus tour (which was also upgraded & improved).

Lunch was at the Cowfé for ooey-gooey cheese quesadillas.

Some play time on the ropes course and time at the crop adventure.  Camden went a bit further on the ropes (although still a little too 'wobbly' for her) and Braxton rocked it.

Her strawberry costume was a 3T!  Still so cute.

Macie is a full-blown pre-teen and didn't do pictures or participate in much.  But these two really are best friends and have great attitudes and spirits.

Spring Break 2019 Kick-off: Bowling Party!

Spring Break was in March and we stayed local.  I had won a Facebook contest for a free bowling party at the Crawfordsville Plaza Lanes.  It was for bowling and shoes for 5, plus a large pizza.  We went on Monday because it's also dollar mania day and we could get cheap drinks and some nachos.

Camden invited Bella, Nataly, Braxton, and Macie.  She hasn't spent time with Macie in about 2 years when she left New Market and went to Crawfordsville.

I had the bumpers put up just so the kids could simply have fun.  Camden got several strikes/spares and only had assists from the bumper occasionally.

The kids all brought a little bit of money so we did a round of laser tag and spent a few dollars in the arcade.

They all came over to the house for dinner.  It was a great kick-off to Spring Break fun!

Conference

I was at the Alexander Hotel in Indy for a few nights at a recent work conference.  Selfie while waiting to check people in.  Love my latest hair cut!

The a small group of the out of town folks decided a pre-dinner trip to St. Elmo's for the shrimp cocktail was in order.  I have always wanted to try it and was glad to help fulfill their craving too.

Hot does not even begin to describe it...and strangely addicting, especially with a basket of bread to offset the heat.

Fat Bottom Donuts

Staying on the food topic...we have a new donut company in town.  They actually are just a donut truck that feature only yeast and cake donuts with three different icings and cronuts.  Occasionally they will throw in a chocolate cake.  Since they are new, the lines are long and they sell out quickly.  I saw they were going to be parked at the car dealership nearest us on a recent Saturday morning.  I was up early and decided to head over.  I got there before their announced opening and beat the crowd!

It helped that a heavy rain shower was about to hit.  The box got a little wet as I made my way back to the car, but warm, fresh donuts were inside.

We got a sample of each kind of donut with each of the three icings - strawberry, chocolate, and plain.  She threw in a couple of extra chocolate cake since their cronuts were not quite ready.

The yeast ones were good, but the cake were fantastic.  Still doesn't top Mary Lou's or Titus, but it's up there!
