Beautiful Evening

A random telescope appeared in our yard.  Think the mighty winds of the past few weeks may have carried it from another playset in the vicinity.  Not knowing where it's from and until it's reclaimed, we attached it to the playset and now Captain Hook/Peter Pan (depending on who she is on a given day) can have fun watching for pirates.

Sleep-over

Kevin did not have to do the final 2 weeks of classes in Atlanta and came home on Friday.  He began his on-the-job training as a yardmaster this morning.  To celebrate his return and new position, Camden got to have a sleepover at Uncle Ric and Aunt Carole's while he and I stayed the weekend in Indy.  ReeRee met us in Crawfordsville on Friday afternoon and Camden got to spend some time with one of her favorite cousins.

Didn't get a whole big scoop on the weekend activities, but a bonfire at friend's house on Saturday night, Sunday meeting, and eating sour cream like it was yogurt were all part of the fun.

After two nights away, she was so glad to see her mommy and daddy, but she absolutely loved the time with her extended family.  She kept making sure we hadn't left again on Sunday afternoon, but she also didn't want to leave their house.  I think they have better toys!

Atlanta Food Experiences

We enjoyed several food adventures as well.

We found a terrific cupcake store.  Don't be fooled...Camden loved her pink treat...look at all that frosting!

I have been to Atlanta at least 5 times and have never eaten at the famed Varsity.  We headed there for hotdogs and onion rings after our play time at Olympic Park.

Being the home of the "cow place" Camden and I ate there for lunch a few times...always a good place for play.  I wouldn't have taken a picture, but I looked down and just liked how all the food containers and Chick-fil-a logo looked.

On our last evening, as we made our way to the airport, we stopped in the funky, artsy neighborhood called Little Five Points to eat cajun food at Front Page News.  We sat on the outdoor patio and Camden watched the fishes in the fountain while we waited for food.

Olympic Park

Tuesday afternoon/evening was still a little overcast, but we headed downtown to play and go to dinner.  Our main stop was at Olympic Park.  Wonderful remnants of the '96 Olympics.  CNN, the Coca-Cola Museum, and the Georgia Aquarium all surround the park.

Hippo Hop

Tuesday was slightly overcast and drizzly, so I looked for another indoor activity for Camden and I while Kevin was in class.  She recently discovered that she actually DOES like bounce houses and so Hippo Hop was our destination.  It was just down the road from our hotel and was a perfect excursion!

Being three meant Camden was at the perfect age to enjoy both the little activities (3 and under) or the big ones (3 and over).

She went down this big slide over and over.  And screamed each time.  She's hit this phase where she loves the sound of her screams when she's truly enjoying something.  In fact I called her over and gently told her she didn't have to scream like that to which she looked me in the eye, smiled a huge smile and said, "oh yes I do...I love it."

Another nice thing about Hippo Hop was the general play areas.  They had lots of other toys to play with in the large warehouse building.  Camden and a new buddy (who followed her everywhere) enjoyed a few games of air hockey (on a full-size table).

Happy 30th Anniversary

WE LOVE YOU!

Thai Fans

Making our way back to the hotel after the waterpark, we stopped for some Thai food for dinner.  Kevin and I went to one in Indy recently and he is now a big fan.

He ordered a "thai iced tea" and got a milky, sweet drink.  Not his favorite selection (although it reminded both of us of chai tea - my favorite).  Camden liked it!

I got a nice pot of hot jasmine tea....yum!

Camden has been requesting "chinese rice" a lot lately and so she was happy at our choice of restaurants.  In addition to her rice, she shared our shrimp appetizer.  It was simply a large shrimp wrapped in a wonton.  I'm not sure what spices they put on the shrimp, but it was a yummy alternative to an egg roll.

Kevin was also a little amazed at how quickly Camden took to chopsticks.  He kept saying, "beginner's luck" since he can't use them at all.  It was pretty impressive to see her pick up the large pieces of broccoli and green beans and get it to her mouth with ease.
